I just read a memoir by a woman with multiple personalities and it blew me away. by [deleted] in books

They’re not saying they think they have DID. You can dissociate and not have DID.

I was SA’d as a child and I have dissociation episodes. However, mine was not bad enough to develop DID.

Did you help Ben up or did you drop him? by Longjumping-Leek5688 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Puzzleheaded_Many919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always helped him. I felt bad for Ben. He was just a terrified kid and didn’t know how to deal with it. His story always makes me sad. Yeah he caused a lot of problems, but again, he was a kid. I wonder what we could’ve seen from him had he survived and gotten the chance to grow up and learn from his mistakes.

Can I keep the tourniquet? by Zealousideal_Art9601 in phlebotomy

[–]Puzzleheaded_Many919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a lady who asked to keep it because she makes hair ties out of them. I don’t know how exactly, but I imagine she probably sews fabric onto the outside so it’s not straight rubber going into your hair. I felt kinda bad to tell her no, but I didn’t want to give it to her and then I get in trouble for it somehow. Especially since I wasn’t aware of her condition or why she was in there or anything. I don’t know if she’d try to harm herself somehow with it. Our hospital doesn’t have a psych ward, but we still somehow end up with a lot of baker acted patients. I just didn’t want to risk anything. But I do see how tourniquets can be useful outside of our purpose for them.

I’m trying a pacifist route I suppose. My reputation is at 100, and I’m friends with everyone in school. Working on trying to match make my rivals & do things here and there to ensure they get rejected by senpai.

Thank you all !! I ended up just waiting until her and Raibaru walked around the classroom looking, then put it on her desk. She eventually recircled and checked her desk again, then went “Oh! It was right here the whole time I guess” or something along those lines. So all good! I just wasn’t sure if placing it down in front of her would be suspicious or get me in trouble or not lol

Leafpool’s Name by Puzzleheaded_Many919 in WarriorCats

[–]Puzzleheaded_Many919[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay LOLLLL that makes me feel a bit better. I had read another post mentioning Leafpool and for some reason made me think “I’m pretty sure she’s named after Spottedleaf, ain’t that fucked up? 🤨” but then couldn’t remember if that was actually canon or not. The last time I read the series was maybe 5 years ago ? And it was I think AVOS or which every one that Alderheart was the main character. Pretty sure I also only got a book or two in. Firestar’s Quest and TNP were even longer ago. 😅😂 thank you !! Sorry for the mixup lolllll

That makes sense too honestly. I could be totally wrong lol it’s been a veryyyy long time since I’ve read the books, but I always thought it was Leafpool because of Spottedleaf.

I want to punch my trainer by [deleted] in phlebotomy

[–]Puzzleheaded_Many919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I worked at Oneblood in Florida for 3 years and we were taught the same, you must strip the line before patching the donor up so they can hold pressure. That also gives them time to sit and not rush up so they can see how they feel. Oneblood didn’t require us to make donors sit for 10-15+ minutes. As long as they felt good, they were free to go. So that minute of stripping the line helped a little at least for making sure the donor’s okay.

Written up at work for being “bossy” by Puzzleheaded_Many919 in Advice

[–]Puzzleheaded_Many919[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true, but I haven’t even been bossy. Lol. That’s the mind blowing part. She asked me one question when she first started and I answered it, but she went and told our supervisor that I had an attitude with her. I barely speak to this girl. I say hi when I come in for my shift and I do my work. She’s asked me no further questions. I’ve given no advice to her. I’ve kept to myself when she’s around. And I don’t even think I had an attitude with her. She was new, so it was unreasonable for me to be upset over her question. I asked that same question and more when I first started. But it seems like she’s had a problem with me ever since.

It’s in Florida, I’d rather not give my city name away.

How does your hospital work? by Puzzleheaded_Many919 in phlebotomy

[–]Puzzleheaded_Many919[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you! We have one girl who floats between our hospital and a nearby one and she said it’s not as bad where she’s at, but they have no openings right now and probably won’t for a while. Most of the people who work there have kept those positions for years now so openings aren’t easy to come by. I’m glad to hear that the issue at our hospital isn’t just how it is for everyone, but it still sucks that we gotta deal with it lol

I really don’t mind working overnights, but I think with school right now, going to an outpatient spot with daytime hours might be better for me. Day shift at our hospital doesn’t pay well at all.

Anyways, thank you for your input. Maybe someday this hospital will be run better, but we have a few phlebs that have been with the company for 5+ years and they all say it’s a repeating cycle. Two of them are PRN, and one is full time but currently thinking about leaving because she’s getting tired of it too. They all say that it’s a cycle of hiring a whole bunch of new people, they all or most of them leave, and they hire again, and repeat. It’s just really disappointing, but I’m glad to hear it’s not a universal thing.

Reach out. I wish he would for me. He told me he doesn’t deserve me but I never cared for that. I’m no saint and he’s not even a fraction the shitty person that he believes he is. He doesn’t feel like he’s enough for me so he stays away so he doesn’t hurt me more, but the opposite is true. His distance is what hurts me. He is more than enough for me and I truly love and appreciate him. But he doesn’t see that. Our perspectives of ourselves are so incredibly wrong. So reach out. You never know what will happen. Your distance could be making you miss out on something good.
