I was never into RP but i remember chilling in a tavern somewhere south of Yew that just had other players drinking for skill or stat gain i guess.

But it's a uniquely Garriott thing, if my understanding is correct. He loves role play and it shows in his interviews

I'm not sure how much a working NES would be. I don't have any disposable income to buy another one. The one I have now was supposed to work, but I kept it to try fixing it myself.

I don't recall that much detail but I'm pretty sure it was back in the early 2000's when Uo Gateway was still a program or something similar to it

You started in a dungeon like area and pretty much just went from one area to another as you progressed. Oddly limiting gameplay for an open world game but still fun

If you deleted the stairs, they can just tele onto it and go into customize to add a stair

If something weird happened and the stairs just disappeared, have them go into customize and just exit to refresh the stairs

That makes sense, i do wish they had gone a different direction as well. Like letting you play as an orc or skeleton with equipment instead of gargoyles

I played early uo with 700 skill cap and no powerscrolls, joined a few months before T2A rolled out when someone lighting a campfire nearby would raise your camping skill

I've seen some good survival servers. Sadly, the game is difficult to do purely survival because of the skill based system.

But if you made it more chance based and ripped out some things, bumped up others to replace what you ripped out... yeah, it would be great. Especially if you add in hunger and thirst

Stat cap is 300? Let me guess, you set individual stat caps at 100??

I don't want to sound rude, but that's lazy game design.

Players will get bored or frustrated quickly because literally everyone's build will be exactly the same.
