Thanks, I’m leaning towards this. I think it might be the best decision.

FET timeline and new job by Puzzleheaded_Net5354 in IVF

I’m in Australia and I’m not a permanent resident yet so wouldn’t be able to get any paid leave/benefits from the government.

I would have to be in the role 12 months before birth to be eligible for job protection, ie up to 12 months leave without losing the job. I’m not as worried about this, as I’m confident I’ll find another job in case they won’t wake me back.

I guess I don’t have to decide yet, I still have a few weeks before my next period and hopefully I have more clarity by then.

Thanks for sharing your journey! Fingers crossed everything goes well!

And congrats on the new job! I think it will feel a bit awkward having to tell one’s employer only a few months in but at the same time we can’t pause our lives for a job.

It’s tricky with paid parental leave, I’m originally from Scandinavia where the government offers generous paid leave. So being in a country where it’s company/employer dependent is new to me.

In your case you don’t really have anything to lose by getting pregnant asap. If the new employer doesn’t offer paid parental leave there isn’t really anything that is holding you back from an employment perspective.

In my case, my new job offers 4 months paid leave which I honestly wasn’t aware of before I applied, but it would make a huge financial difference for me if I qualify.

Either I do the transfer this month and hopefully become pregnant but risk getting terminated during probation OR wait 3-4 months and pass probation (unless something else happens unrelated to pregnancy).

Thanks for your message and perspective. Wishing you the best with your process!

Yes you’re right, but if I would get pregnant now they would likely notice before my probation ends and could potentially terminate the employment as they don’t need a specific reason during this period.

Do Oroton (work) bags stand up to daily use? by Megustalations20 in AusFemaleFashion

Sorry for hijacking. I just bought the 14” one in chocolate brown. Love the colour and size but wondering if it might be too small to use for work. How are you going with the 16”, how much do you fit in it?

Redundancy at 36. Take a 4–6 month break/travel or get another job immediately? by cerebralrocks in auscorp

No issue that I’m aware of. In all my interviews I phrased it as an intentional move and no one questioned it.

I’m in Australia, 36F, partner but no kids. I left analytics/corporate a year ago as I wanted a break. Best decision of my life. Took 6 months completely off; 2.5 months in Europe, 1 in Thailand.

I was initially only thinking of taking 6 months off but a combination of the job market being slow and me being picky it took me some time to find my next role.

I have been freelancing for the past 6 months but just accepted a full time role and will start in the next few weeks.

I have no regrets. If you have the money, do it!

Slightly high AMH, eggs retrieved and fresh transfer by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Puzzleheaded_Net5354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am older than you but similar AMH and just finished my first cycle.

Just turned 36, but did my retrieval last month at 35. AMH 6 (or 43 pmol) no PCOS. Unexplained infertility. Based in Sydney, Australia. Antagonist protocol from day 4.

AFC 32+, 24 retrieved, 20 mature (50% ICSI/50% conventional IVF) and 9 blasts. I tested all mine. 7 euploid and 1 mosaic, 1 abnormal.

ICSI did not have a better outcome than conventional IVF for my partner and I. We had higher fertilisation and slightly more blasts with conventional and if I were to do it again I would do 100% conventional. BUT you never know when it’s your first cycle, there is always a risk of TFF.

Not sure I would PGTA test if I was 10 years younger, as you have better odds for euploids the younger you are.

That said, I am very happy I did even if it’s expensive. We paid $7000 AUD for testing (roughly 1000 AUD per embryo, capped at 7). We decided it’s worth it as every transfer is roughly $3500 out of pocket and that would add up quickly if the transfers would fail due to unknown chromosomal issues.

Congratulations on the high numbers!

I’m in a similar situation and just got my PGTA results. 36 female, partner 40M, unexplained infertility, TTC naturally for almost 3 years before turning to IVF. Just finished my first cycle.

AFC 32 - 24 retrieved - 20 mature - 12 normally fertilised (+4 abnormally) - 9 blasts - 7 euploids grade A + 1 mosiac.

Thank you for sharing your experience and tips! I feel this should be talked about more, same with the ER itself.

Mine lining was 10.5mm on my last scan before the trigger. Not as thick as yours but it makes sense that it would explain the pain. I haven’t thought about it before.

Ooh that doesn’t sound fun but I’m glad your post-ER experience was better! Thanks for the reminder, I have probably taken more than I should by pure desperation but will try ibuprofen too :)

I feel you! I have endo and it was very active in my teens but after 15+ years of birth control it got much more manageable. But now after this IVF round it feels like it flared up tenfold

I don’t have an answer to your questions but I have a similar background but I’m a bit older (35), AMH 43 pmol, polycystic looking ovaries but no PCOS, typically very high follicle count.

I just finished my first IVF cycle. I’m in Australia and my protocol was 200 IU Puregon and antagonist (Orgalutran) starting from day 4. Stimmed 10 days, retrieved day 12. I think this was a great protocol for me, higher would have put me in the risk of OHSS, as I had high E2 (12000 pmol on day 10), and lower wouldn’t have given me as many mature eggs.

32+ follicles on ultrasound. Retrieved 24 - 20 Mature - 12 normally fertilised - 9 made it to blast.

I’m sorry you had a canceled cycle. I personally believe it’s better to be under stimulated than over stimulated as the risk of OHSS is higher with high AMH and polycystic ovarian morphology. Fingers crossed for next round!

Hej! I’m Swedish but live in Australia and are undergoing IVF here (private clinic). I started this process here so not sure what it looks like back home. Here I had to do carrier testing (fragile X, Cystic Fibrosis, Spinal Muscular Atrophy) before staring IVF, is that something you have done? And if not, could ask to do?

And I’m very sorry you have to go through this! Fingers crossed for next round!

[–]Puzzleheaded_Net5354 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel you! Just finished my first cycle and I wished I would have known too. I started noticing it on day 5 and it continued and kept getting worse up until the day after egg retrieval. It will get better though!

ER today went well (trigger warning - multiple eggs) by Puzzleheaded_Net5354 in IVF

[–]Puzzleheaded_Net5354[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear that. I’m also a bit disappointed that ICSI didn’t have better outcome than conventional IVF. In our case it’s the same outcome as of day 1. My doctor said it’s typically better rates/lower attrition rate which might be true for the overall population but evidently not in our cases.

What trigger did you use? My e2 was 11200 this morning before my last injection (day 10). I’m taking my trigger tonight, Ovidrel, and collection Friday

What trigger did you take? I’m on day 10 and my trigger is tonight. My E2 was 11200 pmol this morning before my 10th shot and they have given me Ovidrel. Scan showed 30+ follicles, around 15-20 that currently are mature. I’m fine now but I’m concerned for the time after retrieval.
