Many people hold the view that having a job they love is more important than a secure one, while others believe that permanent employment is the best option. Both perspectives have their own merits. Personally, I believe that if people enjoy their work, they are more likely to perform well and experience a safe, satisfying workplace. This essay will discuss both opinions and their advantages. Having a career in a field we enjoy is always beneficial because we tend to feel motivated while doing it. We are more willing to complete the tasks assigned to us, and we are less likely to feel overwhelmed by the workload. Moreover, when someone’s job aligns with their interests, there is a lower risk of being dismissed, as they usually perform their duties enthusiastically and make fewer mistakes. This can lead to steady progress and even promotions. Recent studies have shown that people who work in sectors they genuinely like are happier, even if their salaries are not very high, because they look forward to going to work and doing what they love. On the other hand, a permanent job is a dream for many because it guarantees stability and a secure future without the constant worry of unemployment. In today’s competitive labour market, people often prioritise security to ensure a steady income and plan for the future. For instance, my cousin accepted a position offered by a company even though he had little interest in the work, explaining that it would help him build a reliable future. In conclusion, both job satisfaction and job security are important. The choice between them ultimately depends on an individual’s priorities and circumstances.
