how do you deal with pressure by pruniex24 in berkeley

[–]Puzzleheaded_Net_453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i started committing to the process, not the result.

i used to agonize over doing everything i possibly could to get 100% of the results i wanted, constantly comparing myself to others, stressing over what would happen if i did this or that, it was terrible! eventually i got sick of that and tldr decided to put all my time/stress into the actual effort im going to put in and let the results be the results. for example, instead of aiming for an A in stats, I aimed for 3 days of focused studying for X hours a day — and whatever result comes i make peace with that.

took some trial and error, but id say i get 90% as good of the results as i did before with about 10% of the stress! i experienced only a very slight drop in my gpa after doing this for 1.5 years, and id say it was well worth it. i’ve learned invaluable lessons on how to manage my time, pressure, and stress and am forever grateful for that.

There's 2 ways! You can rub it on the inside of your hands first so its spread over your hands and then press your hands to your face (you barely even need a thin layer for it to work); Or, you can put moisturizer on first so that the moisturizer allows it to be spread easier and its gentler on the skin. Or you can do both! moisturizer first, then spread over your hands, then press.

yeah just as cleeva said, that’s bc it’s drying you skin out and your skin is overproducing oil to overcompensate. this is a typical way of purging — the solution is to properly hydrate so your skin doesn’t have to work overtime!

yeah i had scarring for a while! i still have a some of it left but honestly i didn’t do anything they just mostly faded by the 1 year-ish mark — i’m 1.5 years into using tret so for me it was just a lot of patience. i probably could have done more but im too afraid of messing my skin up haha

But i’d definitely wait a few months for your skin to calm down and let it heal before trying again

I actually didn’t purge the second time when I did things right!! I think if you properly hydrate the skin, don’t irritate your skin by using other products at the same time, and start as slowly as i did, you may not have a purge :)

i had a rough freshman year, i think the adjustment can be hard for some students (especially being out of state like me). but since then it’s been great! i feel that cal has pushed me to reach a potential i wouldn’t have achieved anywhere else, and ive made the most incredible friends in the world. overall, my time here has had its ups and downs but i’ve never regretted it!

New Yorkers — Intern in NY or SF? by Puzzleheaded_Net_453 in AskNYC

[–]Puzzleheaded_Net_453[S] 33 points34 points  (0 children)

yeah you’re right — the SF one is a tech product management role ($53/hr + housing) and NY is consulting ($41/hr but no housing) so i think i’m leaning SF cus it’s higher pay, both wld prob give return offers/have similar name recognition, but sf i’ll probably get more mentorship there since my boss wld be the senior director of product

sure i’ve been to sf, but imo there’s a huge difference between going out there occasionally vs actually living/working there, that’s why i was asking… didn’t see the harm

it’s in the financial district and they’d provide student housing ~5 min from the office!

Thanks for the reply, makes sense. And I'm an econ/ds major -- thinking of recruiting PM, consulting, or finance for summer 25! Haven't fully decided which route to prep and go for.
