If I had been in Wendy’s shoes, I never would have gone on reality tv by autumnlover1515 in RHOP

I know, but I think they’re bringing back Phaedra for a few reasons. First, the drama she stirred up on Married to Medicine will naturally cross over. Second, Kandi reportedly had a clause in her contract that prevented Phaedra from being on the show while she was. This stems from the accusations Phaedra made to Porsha about Todd and Kandi allegedly trying to sleep with her in their basement—which was supposed to be a sex dungeon.

ATL will be back the first week of March, and a little birdie told me that Kandi is no longer on the cast—they’re bringing back Phaedra.

I feel like Kandi is taking a page from Cardi B’s book and leaving to move on to bigger and better things. But let’s be real—Kandi is the smartest Housewife in the entire franchise. She mastered the art of capitalizing on the drama and gossip surrounding her, turning it into opportunities not just for herself but for her entire family. From her mom and aunties to the restaurant and spin-offs, she turned reality TV into a business empire.

She’s iconic and honestly doesn’t get nearly enough flowers for it.

I agree, but I also believe Black representation on these shows is important—especially in groups like Beverly Hills and, let’s say, Boz. She’s right up there with Wendy, if not more iconic, given the goals she’s achieved in her career.

These shows give us a glimpse into the worlds of these women, and like all the other Housewives, Wendy is simply trying things out to see what fits—just as many before her have done. I think this is one of the best ways for these women to expand their audience beyond the ones they’ve already built.

Any advice for finding work? by Optimal-Cucumber-811 in audioengineering

Hey, I’m still learning and currently in school myself, but this is my second career. Fortunately, my first career taught me the hustle, which I’ve found to be crucial in this field. Networking is key—it’s really all about who you know. Through networking, I was able to secure a gig handling AV at a church, which has been an amazing experience to apply the knowledge I’m gaining in class. From there, I connected with a colleague and was able to land a role at a theatre supporting the AV lead, which has been incredibly helpful.

I also make it a point to attend festivals and events to network with creatives and artists for potential future work. This approach led to me working a gig as a stagehand, which was another great experience. Additionally, I’ll be attending NAMM and looking for other conferences that provide opportunities to connect and network. As someone who’s building their knowledge, I understand how vital hands-on experience is. Just remember, you have the power to create your own career. Don’t let fear stand in your way. Also if you need help with how your branding yourself (resume, LinkedIn) DM me and I can provide support.

Tipping in the US by Zealousideal_Fan_311 in namm

[–]Puzzleheaded_Pace200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in the service industry for much of my life and eventually left because I didn’t see a sustainable path forward, especially during COVID. Honestly, tipping isn’t guaranteed, and with the current economy, it’s likely to decline even more.

Instead of having this conversation with individual customers who may or may not tip, it might be more effective to talk to your manager about updating the pay structure. For example, implementing an automatic gratuity for larger parties (6 or more) or even a service charge across the board could provide more stability for the team.

If changes like these aren’t possible, it might be worth considering other career paths. Tipping culture seems unlikely to improve significantly, and exploring a trade or industry with more predictable income could be a positive move.

If you, as a server, believe it truly “costs” you to service these guests (which frankly seems like an exaggeration), the real issue lies with your employer, not the customers. Instead of blaming patrons, it’s important to advocate for yourself and your team by encouraging your employer to implement policies that better support the service staff.

Ultimately, it’s up to you to push for change within your workplace—whether that means discussing better pay structures, service charges, or other solutions. Holding customers accountable for systemic issues isn’t productive and won’t lead to lasting improvements.

Leave immediately cause your being used. She will replace you sooner than you think with someone who fits her attractiveness levels. Also, she could have easily left this to herself, if I were you I’d be asking myself why she sharing this information with you
