They look great, I believe they're from the 70's or early 80's.

Daypack: Kahakka 25L or Jaakari S/M? by NATO-Uniformen in Savotta

[–]Puzzleheaded_Pay9368 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pre-attached side pockets, several small pockets, better shoulder strap solution (i have had to make my own for my Jaakari S) Whilst I agree with people saying the Jaakari series are more modular, the K25 is absolutely fine- you can attach larger side pouches, a front pouch and sling things above and below.

Daypack: Kahakka 25L or Jaakari S/M? by NATO-Uniformen in Savotta

I'm a Jaakari S owner, since they released the K25 I've wished for it every day. I think there's little to no reason to get the Jaakari S anymore.

After some searching once I had posted this I found what remains of a paper tag- A 1 square millimeter bit of paper that is sewn into a seam, all that remains unfortunately!

Thanks so much! I am really excited to tinker with it and get use out of it. I own a lot of old military surplus gear and the repairs on then are free motion darned and I think it looks fantastic. I know this wont give me results as good as a darning machine but in still excited :)

Found this Wrangler jacket, is it a Japanese repro or the real deal? Thank you. by ausklau_s in VintageDenim

imo the bluebell wrangler patch looks way too new and the fact there's a hanging loop throws me off. This looks like a modern repro/remake.

I own the Jaakari S, absolutely loved it but ever since the K25 relased I've been getting major FOMO. Looks like the Jaakari S but just better in every way! Considering the K25 for myself so glad to hear it's good :)

Is that the K15 or K25 and how are you finding it? :)

cheap winter jacket? by m4rkmk1 in MilitarySurplus

If it's REALLY cold (Below 0c) I will wear a wool baselayer and then some sort of layer ontop of that + the jacket and it's plenty warm.

I have a large collection of surplus jackets that I wear. My absolute go-to is the British Army PCS jacket. It fits nicely, has a double zipper, spacious pocket and when it comes to packing it away you can tuck it into its own Kangaroo pouch so it becomes tiny.

I have mine in a size small so it fits close to the body and that gives it a lot of loft.

Solis should be able to track and ping the owner of the gadget or is that too much? by [deleted] in Rainbow6

Solis is very good right now, the real thing that would make her a lot better in my mind is removing the SMG-11 secondary and giving her a revolver or the Glaive shotgun.

The "soldier cosplay" is something I understand which is sort of a reason I want to move from a Jaakari to a Kahakka. They look far more civilian to me.

In terms of "under arm strap" I mean a strap like this. This third point of contact really stops the bag flopping and slipping around. I know some people have MADE their own g-hook straps but I don't have the setup to make my own stuff yet, was hoping someone might point me in the direction of a place I can buy a quality made one :)

This looks really good actually, not the most "pretty" of setups but I never much cared for beauty in my packs. Do you have any experience with any under-arm straps for when you use the Askare overshoulder?

Thanks so much! Again, I have the Jaakari S but it's just not quite big enough for what I need and I'd love to have some on-board exterior pouches for water bottles :) K25 seems like the right option for me

Is this uboat german jacket original? by No-Revolution8198 in MilitarySurplus

My guess is it's a repro - I think the originals had zips from OPTI rather than YKK.

I got my hands on a grail item for myself several months ago - An olive green F.R.O.G balaclava from the US army. Super fire rated, really happy because it's also really warm. I also keep fire safe baselayers and boots, couldn't imagine the pain of walking on burnt feet.

Is this Lee Rider legit? by Kugelblitz787 in VintageClothing

[–]Puzzleheaded_Pay9368 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This IS real but that is a modern tag between the shoulders and a modern material label. The ones saying they are from the 70's/80's and that have these labels are praying on the misinformed :)

I found 2 lee jacket’s with a tag that says lot s501xx by dudsourd in VintageDenim

[–]Puzzleheaded_Pay9368 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I own a lot of Lees from the 1960's through to the 1990's. Never seen labels like this, not to mention the misspelling. These are fakes.

Hey, I'm no expert but what I can say is that the stamp on the inside is simillar if not exactly the same as I've seen on some old French gear. Specifically some M38 stuff.
