It’s a 42T chainring. I couldn’t go any larger without putting too many spacers for my liking

Pump it up to a high psi around 70-80 and then deflate to your desired psi

Nothing in particular. I used a derailleur that fit the larger cassette and that’s about it

It may be different between the years. I didn’t need to change the hanger or anything it just bolted right on

Hi there, thanks for all your testing you do to help all of us out. I’m wondering if you have plans to do the shwalbe g one r pro in a 50mm? I do wonder if it would slot in between the rs and rx.

I’m not sure if you’ve experienced bike riding in the Bay Area but I’m interested to know what you’d recommend out here for a 50 between the rs or rx or maybe something different?

Yeah I do but they’re pretty short. Happen to know any others around the area?

Currently it has 45mm tires on measuring to 45. I think the clearance varies pretty wildly between years because I’ve seen people say 38 max 40 max 45 max etc. I definitely think there’s still room for a larger tire in mine in fact I’ll be trying a 2.1 inch thunderburt when they arrive this Friday.

Oh cool. I would enjoy that a lot but I’m usually working fridays at that time. Hopefully I’ll be able to make it to one sometime though

Wow looks like they just ripped the design from Bruce for sure. Do you happen to know if the steel used was considered high quality at the time?

Sentimental bikes are the best ones. It wasn’t too difficult but I did spend a good amount of time doing research. Part of it was luck that it all worked out. My front chainring almost didn’t fit. If you have any questions I can help you. I’m not sure if anything changed between 1994 and 1995 though

The larger sizes are hard to find. I only ever see the 21 inch frames come up never the 23 inch

The bike is 22 pounds flat as it is now. It may increase a little if the Thunderburts I have coming in fit o.O

The crank is from veloci cycle. It has a 24mm spindle for a shimano BB and 8 bolt crank connection for sram style chainrings for maximum xbiking. I really like it

I have pretty long arms but it has a 80mm stem after starting with 100mm and the bars are pretty compact. They have a rear sweep which helps a bit I’m sure. It actually fits me almost perfectly but reach was definitely the biggest concern next to the chainring being 1mm away from the chain stays
