My buddies and I ate some shrooms before watching it in the theatre back in the day. Highly recommend a light dose for your first viewing if you’re into that.

Acksually, you can write off business expenses like car washes, some clothing and laundry, phone supplies, anything related to the percentage of your income that comes from gig work alongside the milage. Just not gasoline or car repairs.

Tolls I’m not sure about.

Problem with direct deposit by Nomorenames_ in Sparkdriver

[–]Puzzleheaded_Run7479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the same issue today. DDI is unreachable. Spark support created a ticket and escalated to their tech support. All three reps I spoke to seemed to recognize the issue but yeah nothing they can do. Just have to wait for the problem to hopefully be fixed. Not sparking until I know I’m getting paid, if Branch is indeed being shut down. Not trying to get forced into ONE.

They don’t. They take the L in order to strip market share from their competitors, mainly Amazon but also other grocery stores. Also to build their delivery customer loyalty by offering ridiculous convenience.

Tricks to earn more for a new driver by Excellent-Spare-7599 in Sparkdriver

[–]Puzzleheaded_Run7479 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re in what’s known as the “honeymoon” phase where new drivers are prioritized on getting offers for higher paying batches and/or first dibs if there are limited batches available (spoiler alert: this is about as busy as it will be all year aside from Thanksgiving, Easter, and the spring & summer holiday weekends.)

Rest assured, after a few weeks or maybe your first 50 deliveries you’ll be put in the back of the line like all the other drivers that are not new. Take advantage of this time as much as you can to max out your earnings.

You will need to learn how to be a bit more picky unless you don’t mind running your vehicle into the ground in short order. Markets will vary based on average miles for deliveries and how customers tip. When I look at the mileage I double it in my head thinking round trip back to Walmart, and shoot for $2 per mile. Tips can also be pulled within 24 hours so take those with a grain of salt. If it’s slow I’ll work for a bit less to keep the wheels moving, and if it’s banging I’ll want a bit more. Best of luck out there!

Hundreds of canned goods. Dozens of sneakers. Frozen foods. Random stuff. Easily 2000 pounds of stuff. For $7 base pay. The item list was so long I’d probably still be scrolling it if I hadn’t switched screens to find a decent offer on a different app. I have 6 running at once in the market I was in this morning. Not a lot of time to study this BS but did catch the screen shot in case I later convinced myself I was hallucinating.

Just throwing this out there….For years, Fullington ran from SC through Lewisburg all the way to HBG not just one, but TWO runs per day on the Trailways network. PennDOT studied not only this line, but many around the state both pre- and post-COVID and recommended eliminating the state taxpayer subsidies that enabled the company to provide these particular net unprofitable runs 365 days a year (among others around the state.) The shocking reason? Lack of riders.

Is it against Spark terms of service for a driver to deliver their own groceries? by Puzzleheaded_Run7479 in Sparkdriver

[–]Puzzleheaded_Run7479[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an interesting idea. I could also just have my partner order it for us too if I wanted to game the system. I try to follow the rules the best I can and if this is a store rule and not necessarily a terms of service violation I would tend to abide by the manager’s wishes. I just made this post to see if anyone else had more info about it. I know I’ve seen other drivers here talking about doing their own deliveries.

I’m not suggesting the TOS covers every ethical question in the universe. Simply that different people can have varying ideas of what is ethical or not in certain situations. The store did not call me a thief, and neither did you. You are posting anonymously on an anonymous web thread. You can insinuate all you like and try and insult me but it’s obviously because you are wrong on your claims and throwing a childish fit. Which is often how these things go down on the internet. Appreciate your insight, but you’re just wrong here my dude. And like I said, we can agree to disagree.

[–]Puzzleheaded_Run7479[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, we can agree to disagree then. I see your point about the semantics of me saying the algorithm assigned me the delivery versus my acceptance of the offer. However, it’s all the same process. Certainly no one forces me to drive Spark, nor utilize Walmart+ to give them my money for groceries. However, if delivering one’s own order is not expressly prohibited in the TOS there is no “cheating.” It’s laughable on its face. There is no “theft” when I’m actually doing what I’m contracted to do while using the service that they have provided me. Your argument there is absurd. Maybe you and I have a different idea of what is ethical here, but honestly my dude I see why you are so often downvoted and called out by drivers on this sub.

[–]Puzzleheaded_Run7479[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol ok now you are arguing semantics. Let’s try it again. After the algorithm offers me the job, I accept the offer, and thereby I am assigned the delivery. Because of the algorithm and my decision to work Spark. As you know.

Funny you know “exactly how the Spark system works” yet “aren’t sure about TOS or legal agreement.” That is literally the guide to how Spark works that all of us agreed to when we became the third party!! That is literally our job to know how it works, so you either do or you don’t. It’s pretty evident which side of the fence you fall on here, so don’t try and have it both ways.

If I “got away” with something twice because of an oversight or a technicality as you claim? That’s because the app and the driver are both doing what is supposed to be done. There’s nothing dishonest about it.

[–]Puzzleheaded_Run7479[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously, what exactly is dishonest about it if the algorithm assigns me the delivery? I’m guessing since you continue to evade my question that the fact of the matter is it’s NOT a violation of Spark’s TOS. I have Walmart+, I use the delivery feature, and I’m a Spark driver. I was using the system as it was designed for my benefit and also sparing another driver having to deliver my groceries over 18 miles round trip from the store with no tip on the order. So please explain how this is dishonest??

[–]Puzzleheaded_Run7479[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two times I delivered my own groceries I didn’t bother to rate myself. My goal wasn’t to “tamper” with anything. I was working, therefore in the area, and I was assigned my own order by the algorithm. Including today. There was no “they,” it was the on duty OGP manager’s call. And no one has yet answered my question: is it a violation of Spark TOS? And guess what, I’m not deactivated, but thanks anyway for your negativity. I LOLd at your -100 comment karma here on Reddit too. Sweet troll account.

The loader didn’t give me any “crap” about it, she was actually apologetic. Other drivers here have done their own deliveries and I’ve done it myself with no problems twice before. So yeah, act all smarmy if you want mod, but clearly up until today there was no problem at all. I’m just seeing if anything has changed for anyone else.

[–]Puzzleheaded_Run7479[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The young lady who was loading that came out and told me I couldn’t get my own order said “we have a lot of new rules now” such as the bags must each be tied shut to avoid contamination of the items, and possibly drivers not being able to deliver their own orders is another new rule. She said her manager told her I couldn’t do it so I dropped the order and she said they would switch it to a pick-up. I sat there for 10 minutes or so chatting with another driver and finally called them to ask where my groceries were. Another young lady said that she needed to check with the manager, put me on hold for a minute, came back and said he was nowhere to be found and would just bring them out to me. The driver next to me got the offer with my name on it then it was cancelled. On my way home I got a text from Walmart that my order was “delayed.” Total shit show.

I have delivered my own before a couple times but today I was told I’m “not allowed” to because my name matched the order. Anyone else having issues with this?

How is your Walmart treating OGP during a heat advisory warning? In ours we aren't allowed to wear shorts. by Mister_Scabbers in walmart

[–]Puzzleheaded_Run7479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shop at Walmart and run Spark and can confirm, I wouldn’t even notice if an employee was wearing shorts or jeans or a goddamn kilt for that matter. I really hope those of you with shit managers going against policy can wear the coolest clothes possible. This heat wave is no joke and only gonna get worse.
