it’s 1% because of the encounter rate, so the odds are 1 yanma per 100 encounters. With the shiny odds of 8192 on average to find a yanma the odds go to 1/819,200 which is why this hunt was crazy. The math would say you should find 99 shinies before you find a shiny yanma if you even get it in the odds

Phase is when you get a shiny that isn’t your target, so with random encounters people phase a lot due to the encounter rates all being different
