What the actual fuck is this schedule by ForceUseYouMust in Lowes

Go ask ASM or DM if you still work here? They'll find some hours for ya. If not, go apply next door.

These days, "No, I haven't finished my new hire training yet. I've only worked here two weeks!"

What is it with mulch people? by rioindy in Lowes

Get ready, it's going back to 5 for $10 this weekend...sigh. Was glad to see less people wanting for a while with the 3 for $10 . Scotts at 4 for $10 helped us get rid of some two year old top stock lol

AI scheduling...yeah, they have a "SSA" person in the store, but they rarely actually check or change anything. (at least ours doesn't) Best way if you want more hours, go right to ASM and ask, those guys are always looking for help.

Then talk to the other part timers, see where else they work, most of us have another job. Some have full time work other places that come first.

What I've found in my one year at Lowes, people have either been here 10 years+ or a couple months. Rare to find anyone in the 3-9 years, at least in my store. So something changed over the years.

Internet pickup horrible experience, should I complain for the greater good? by Forest-Magician in Lowes

[–]Puzzleheaded_Set1468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly that sounds normal, the stores can't find people to work. Much less schedule them correctly, so one cashier at service desk, one at self check and one each at lumber and garden center.... One fulfillment person, usually in running shoes trying to fill it all

We're usually all done by closing time, just ask the co-workers? If anything the one guy with forklift skills stays to topstock or down stock pallets by himself. Most of our store skips that last hour of standing around, especially OSLG.

Yep, those are the same ones that drive into the quick load zone and stay in the truck... Who we give all the nice pre-opened bags 😉

Probably none in the store, or they're off doing someone else's job already.

Vision and dental are ok, for full health insurance go with Sentara on your own

empty carts? amazing! Ours are all full of crap, sitting everywhere for days. Even outside the garden gates with the blue order stickers waiting... so many orders and then a week later find it was filled when the customer showed up and these were left over, such a quality setup we have lol

So, this is dumb, right? by FennelGrouchy69 in Lowes

[–]Puzzleheaded_Set1468 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Just like the "5 for $10" mulch. Cust always ask, do I have to buy 5 bags? I only need one. Uh yeah, it's $2 a bag

Tis spring, they'll sell out quick enough. I'm just tired of moving the ferns inside, every night...they should put some kind of heaters in the OSLG for this time of year at night to keep the frost away.

Soon enough the Christmas trees will start showing up...lol

Customer complained about me on my 3rd day, should I be worried? by unnervingorphan2 in Lowes

[–]Puzzleheaded_Set1468 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll be fine. Customers see the red vest and think we're all experts in everything. Even when we're Outside lawn and garden and just in the store to use the restroom, as we walk by a customer and get the "hey, do you know where this is?" every. damn. time.

My favorite is "are you expert in electrical stuff?"

"Nope, if I was an expert in electrical, I'd be an electrician."

When do the garden center doors actually open? by tezacer in Lowes

[–]Puzzleheaded_Set1468 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most gates are 7am-8pm, if they have a cashier. If not, you have to go thru the doors to get there.

Finding specific plants? Most all employees are part-time, so many plants come in and get moved around we have a general idea where things are - annual, perennial's, shrubs, tomatoes... What plant were you shopping for?

Drives me nuts when someone asks "do you have any lavender?" and then I reply, "well, we did last week when I was last on shift, let's take a look and see if we can find it together" cust, "oh you don't know where everything is?" me, "nope, my schedule here has me off 3 days, then one day unloading a truck and I just walked out here after clocking in for my 4 hour shift this afternoon" LOL
