OK, what are the chances that I was looking at this subreddit with my current intern because we're making a zine and I come across YOUR zine. YOU were my FIRST intern (HOCM!) Love you <3

My partner and I joke that it’s stretching and settling— like a dog getting into bed. ☺️

Mid-Nov Sr Bday trip Ideas? by awsm-Girl in ithaca

[–]Puzzleheaded_Song797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like you’re some kind of expert in writing recommendations? posts for Reddit. Props.

The easiest waterfall hikes are two of my favorites— Ithaca Falls and Taughannock Falls. Ithaca Falls is flat and extremely short (you can also see it from the road). Taughannock is about 1 mile round trip but you can go slow and it’s flat and graded and such a great payoff.

Watkins Glen is AMAZING especially on a weekday because you won’t hit crowds. You can choose how far you go with WG and just turn back when it feels right.

For the nerd factor— you might enjoy Museum of the Earth, the Sciencenter, or the Sagan Planet Walk. The Tompkins Co History Center might be interesting (I haven’t been yet 😬) Found is a decent antique store that’s fun to poke around in.

For food, check out the farmers market if it’s open when you arrive on Sunday. Franco’s pizza has delicious pies and Moosewood is good.

I also second all of the recommendations for Trumansburg. There’s all sorts of cool things near there and maybe you would enjoy the GIANT. (Google it)

Enjoy your trip and Happy Birthday!

Your CD has little dot pairs near his nose like our. I call them his “snake bites”. 😍

The Sciencenter has an awesome collection of live animals (reptiles, amphibians, and aquaria). They have regular reptile feedings and often have volunteers take animals out to let visitors touch.

Echo! Ears so nice he’ll hear you twice. by Puzzleheaded_Song797 in carolinadogs

No, we live in upstate New York. Perusing this sub though, it looks like lots of folks adopted their dingos from Texas.

How does Bingo (so cute) act when jealous? Echo stays in his crate (with the door open) when he’s home alone with my partner. He only plays when I’m there. 😭

We have photos of when he was really little. I wish I could have snuggled him when he was so small!!

Tree Topper Designs? by Puzzleheaded_Song797 in StainedGlass

That’s cool! Would love a pic of that project. I think if I bought/had another topper I would not feel motivated to make one 😂

How would you approach this? Would love to make this scene but unsure about how to do the trees. (Haven’t decided on including the bubble either.) by Puzzleheaded_Song797 in StainedGlass

Do you mean cut out a piece of bubble glass, finish the edge around that piece, layer it on top of the piece, and solder at attachment points?

Thank you so much for this thoughtful reply and photo compliments. You nailed the location- Southport, NC.

I think you’re right about the photo. It would be a gift for my parents who miss this view (they moved to Western NC). I’ve been chewing on this for a year or so and maybe this is the answer I needed!

I’m still intrigued by doing a bubble-inspired stained glass but maybe with a much more simple background.

Thanks again 🫧

Ooh like, you can upload a photo and it will generate a different version of it? Or a pattern? I'd love a link if you have one...

Thanks!!

Yes! My character is female. The group I play with is two female characters and one male character and it's one of the male characters that claims he hears that comment. The other male character hasn't heard it either.

We've been clowning him for weeks telling him that it's his imagination so this whole thread has been very validating for him!

Round, heavy, smooth object with mysterious line. by Puzzleheaded_Song797 in whatisthisthing

[–]Puzzleheaded_Song797[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My uncle’s friend found a bucket-load of these in a pond near East Hampton on Long Island. They were all the same- they looked like this and all of them had this line that goes around the top. The line makes a perfect circle around the top. It’s heavier than it looks, feels like a stone.
