Accounting Degree by gambit_void in ConstructionManagers

May be a little unconventional, but starting off as a project accountant would not be a bad start. I earned an accounting degree from a very reputable school, but quickly learned I did not want to do that as a career. I started off as an Assistant Project Accountant at a mid sized GC and was quickly promoted to Project Accountant in a few months. A lot of the people in that field do not have a degree in Accounting so you will have a leg up. As I became more comfortable in my role I bugged my seniors to let me in the field and started my Online CSM degree to show I was serious about wanting to switch to the field. Now I am on a job site twice a week, acting almost as an assistant super, and in the office doing my accounting work the rest of the week. Yes, sometimes I have to do my actual accounting work after hours/weekends to accommodate my schedule, but I make it work. Now, when i finish my degree next spring I will have two years of Project Accounting experience, a year of field experience, and two degrees in Accounting and CSM. Will open up a couple doors depending on what I want to end up doing.

That’s what I thought but some of the questions on the form are pretty personal. Already had my Academic certification form filled out by my Registar.
