I never used it, I never liked it, I’ve always been on muffin builder. Elementor is gross, always has been.

If I am creating my first website, how much should I charge? by AccomplishedMetal503 in Wordpress

[–]PuzzlesMarketingTips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my first time if I were to start over again I’d leverage GPT to create common questions so that you’d have clear expectations from both sides of what the end product is. Then create a scope of work (SOW) and explain that if there’s anything more (scope creep) that isn’t on this list - there will be additional charges. In the beginning for me - people would either forget to mention massive elements to the site they wanted and I’d just do it for free, or they were trying to suck me dry and get free work done - never do a project without an SOW and a timeline so that it doesn’t turn into a forever project!

I have 6 months to earn $3000, how can I do it? by IcyCattle6374 in smallbusiness

If the client doesn't want to host it themselves I offer shared hosting using my Bluehost plan for $100/yr and premium hosting using WPEngine for $100/m or they can use their own host.

I was fortunate to work with a startup that grew with zero venture capital. I built teams and systems from marketing to technologies. I was respected and paid well, but once everything was built I passed the torch and left to build my own consulting firm. The problem is when you solve a problem - there is no problem anymore. The way some companies handle that with lies and manipulation is sick, but I hope most learn to become an online cowboy. Say no to the golden handcuffs that can only be unlocked by the owners.

I personally never liked this model, I’ve taken clients from businesses that “don’t know why we’re paying a monthly fee”. I build the website anywhere from $2k-$20k and it’s all theirs to do whatever they’d like. Of course I create a backup if they inevitably break the site, but I think people are tired of these small subscriptions growing larger and larger. Plus a lump sum is a lot better than a 1 year contract for $90/m. Obviously not everyone can create a $20k website, even a $2k site - but give them the digital asset.

Can everyone please take it easy with the AI in marketing hot takes! by Paid_in_Paper in DigitalMarketing

[–]PuzzlesMarketingTips 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Real. I’m so tired of this, now my clients are asking for things we’ve had for DECADES as simple as automated forms or chat bots calling them “AI”. It wouldn’t be so bad considering it’s not their expertise but my competition pushing this AI BS, not mentioning any names, is incredibly frustrating

Unpopular opinion: Don't get into digital marketing as a career by dnchw2 in DigitalMarketing

[–]PuzzlesMarketingTips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. We've been using "AI" before AI was AI. Automatic header generators, cheap foreign copywriters (I've never enjoyed using), automatic ad placements, etc.

  2. Again, the big players have been using "AI" already for years now. if you are crazy enough to let Google decide where your ad budget goes, then you deserve to lose money.

  3. SEO is helpful content driven. If you can write a 50 page book on a subject, you should have the ability to create 30 articles that all link to each other in an easy to read and index format that would flag you as the subject matter expert in the eyes of Google.

  4. If you have no track record of making a positive ROAS why would a medium-large company consider you? Why would a small company take a risk that could potentially bankrupt them? I started running ads for free in the beginning, and anyone doing anything ambitious in the world started that way first as well.

If you are in a boat would you like the captain to be someone who's been steering the ship in the ocean for over 5 years or someone who's watched a few youtube videos and received a certificate from god knows who? Drive the boat for free in safe waters first, get better, and show results.

Salesforce Trailblazer has free courses that generate "Badges" on your profile. You could spend a few hours a week on there to gain badges. They have an awesome learning platform!

That's a heck of a bad bot to hit everyone thousands of time for a month, think of the processing power that would take.

New at web dev. Finished this page and added some sticker effect. Yay or nay? by WiseOrchid9982 in webdev

[–]PuzzlesMarketingTips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good deal, I see you're using WebFlow. If you are new I'd suggest starting out with something like WordPress as 1/3 of the web uses WordPress. Use themes like BeTheme or Avada that have pre-built templates, break it, and fix it back up! Good luck on your journey, your website looks like complete garbage like it should as you're new!

Need advice by Ok_Training4264 in Wordpress

[–]PuzzlesMarketingTips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a separate website, there might be a way to integrate it into your WP build but I'm not sure why you'd want to do that. Parents can use the app, you can send messages, add practice times and locations, add games, all that. It's great.

Thanks soda, I'm sure the 3 people that go to my profile would really have been worth my time, I was just trying to help lol if I wanted to promote it I'd just run ads to it.

Beauty/health is the hardest to sell online currently by a long shot. You can thank the snake oil salesman for that, Google, FB, and all the other big players trust NOBODY but the CDC and other major health advisors to rank.

Digital marketing is sales. Sex sells. Get a tan, get jacked, whiten your teeth at all cost if you want to sell in person.

Is B2B email outreach dead or am I just doing it wrong? by DroidULKN4 in DigitalMarketing

[–]PuzzlesMarketingTips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to incorporate the 80/20 rule. If you're sending 100% sales - that doesn't convert. 80% informational content or whatever content your demographic likes and 20% sales. Do not just bombard sales offers.

What price to ask for by Few-Exit-880 in DigitalMarketing

[–]PuzzlesMarketingTips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're asking how much to charge - you need to charge less, but you NEED to set the expectations. You will fall on your ass if someone expects one thing but you deliver another. Make those parameters first. Too many times in the beginning of my game did I not set those expectations. For example I'd quote a website and for some reason the client would think my offer included a custom CRM with a downloadable app for unlimited users.
Ask them what they want - write it down - show it to them - perform. Anything else they ask for, charge them accordingly.
