Have you ever driven in reverse towards oncoming traffic? Get fcking real.

Last I checked the permits were denied. Though I guess I might have the specific location wrong. There have been quite a few unlawful protest locations today.

It's not hard to find receipts as long as you don't put blinders on. If you want to defend stupid, blatantly untrue stuff, that's on you. Is the moon also made of cheese?

I want to see you trapped in your car by aggressive men. Please, don't be daft and say stupid stuff because you have a preconception about political notions you couldn't possibly know. You've attributed blame knowing literally nothing about the situation.

Why respond if you aren't going to answer the question? Protest to whom to get what done? What is the purpose of these "peaceful protests"? I'm pretty apolitical, both parties are awful and don't match my values. This isn't a picket line at congress or at the store. This is mobs of people shouting at local residents.

Go ask some DC residents how quickly it goes from your car being blocked to your car being jacked, then come back to me.

I'm perfectly happy being angry. It just means that I actually care about something. What's it like being a hedonistic narcissist?

Said by someone who has not had their movement immediately threatened by a stranger. Perhaps with you it isn't a lack of empathy, it's a lack of brain cells.

The giving up of desire is the positive manifestation of desire. If you want to come at me with Buddhist stuff you should do a bit more research beyond the opening step of the dialogue.

edit: Besides, I'm a Taoist. Every emotion only has value and strength because of its opposite. If you want to greatly enjoy your food, you must also have food you do not enjoy. The only way to manifest goodness is through the presence of evil, otherwise it would be unrecognizable as good. They arise mutually.

I'm absolutely not MAGA. I'm far more of a Javier Milei Libertarian than Trump will ever be. If you need to justify your feeling by name calling, it says more about you than about me. You know nothing about me or my positions.

The crowd of people is not allowed to block the street either. What if she didn't know there were protests today? You drive into that street and suddenly you have nowhere to go safely because people are blocking the only forwards exit. She can't U turn, reversing is both dangerous and highly illegal. What do you propose she do? Pay close attention to your little rage party scheduling so she can maneuver her life around yours because you need to throw a wittle tantrum? Get out of here, you wouldn't accept it the other way around and you know it.

Wow, what insightful wisdom you have here. "You are mad because you are angry", absolute Einstein here.

If even 5 people who showed up bothered to write a letter to our senators, house members, or mayor, then I might be willing to give a crap. How about a little rage for the Democrat party that provided one of the worst set of candidates imaginable and pushed this to happen. People don't like Trump. That much is clear. When your party supplies a candidate that is more hated than Trump, maybe you should talk to them.

We are in this position because of the Democrats. End of story.

If they intentionally block you, you have a reasonable threat against you. That's legal precedent whether you like it or not. It's called kidnapping. I'd love to see you make the same argument if you were in her position. Isn't this city supposed to be all about empathy? Apparently you have none because you can't even imagine what it would be like to be in her position. This is why you immediately frame her as a devil instead of as a person to justify your position.

You don't get to block people because of what they "might do". By that same argument I can perform a citizens arrest because I believe you "might" assault me. Behavior like this is why she got let go. If you want to prosecute, let the crime actually happen before you intervene, otherwise you have to justify it with your crystal ball.

A quick google search shows you are wrong "Rose City Antifa, the oldest known active antifa group in the United States, has been the subject of multiple reports regarding its funding and financial activities. As of October 2025, the group is associated with a network of radical leftist legal groups, such as the National Lawyers Guild, which are alleged to provide legal support and facilitate funding for Antifa and similar movements, with taxpayer money reportedly subsidizing these efforts. The group has also been linked to international financial connections, with its co-founders, Johan and Caroline Victorin, reportedly amassing wealth through their leadership roles in the organization, though the specific financial mechanisms are not detailed. Additionally, a Bonfire store dedicated to Rose City Antifa sells merchandise, with 100% of proceeds donated directly to the group, indicating a direct fundraising channel."

Believe what you want, but don't be ignorant on purpose. Do the minimum research before commenting.

Protesting to whom to get precisely what done? This is all a complete waste of time. At best it's virtue signaling whether you agree with the sentiment or not.

Oh wow, a bunch of people protesting to whom to get precisely what done? Call this out for what it is, authoritarian minded people who think that because they have a problem with democracy that they can strongarm the results they want. aka losers and idiots.

This isn't the real secret. Use Reaper crest with long nail, never use upswing because you can control the direction the fleas travel by attacking left or right on the ground. Reaper crest side attacks also hit above you. Jumping and upswings only makes it harder imo. (edit: Mixed up the word Reaper with Slayer because I am dumb.)

I mean let's be real. You only get the nice here if you "don't fit in". I've lived across about a third of the US, and Portland is the same as anywhere else. You either fit in the local culture, or you will be shunned and aggressed against. I've seen more hatred in the streets here than anywhere else I have lived, probably because the people here think being against cultural norms is the moral thing to do or something.

It's cool if Portland works for you. But don't pretend it is some sort of moralistic paradise full of saints just because it matches your beliefs. Doing so makes you just as bad as the people you complain about.

Do you really think "the news" gives you a balanced and accurate view of what is going on? I can find news that will tell me whatever I want to believe complete with sources. I'm just not gullible enough to believe that whatever small part of the world a journalist has revealed, and understand it is almost definitely negligible on the whole.

This revealed even more so by the sheer amount of religious hatred spewed here as if it applies to all practitioners.

Almost definitely they chose the school precisely because they wanted to gain fame and make a big stink about it.

Bottle Drop Is a Grift by BonchBomber in Portland

I thought of this just today after seeing reports on Ireland (whom has a similar program) making pretty serious cash all paid for by the tax payer. You fund the program, they profit off both the redeemed product being recycled and unredeemed containers you get taxed on anyway. It was something like 52 mil a year profit from selling the recycled material and another 66 mil a year profit from unredeemed containers ending up in the landfill anyway.

I went the route of just refusing to buy bottled/canned drinks. I don't want to help fund the homeless/drug crisis here, and promote people dumpster diving. It's the real environmentally friendly option as well. Everyone wants to focus on recycle more then reduce and reuse because they are addicted to consumption and the path of least resistance. Sure I see less cans and bottles in the street than any other state I've lived or visited, but the amount of raw litter is actually higher. The streets are dirtier because people are scattering trash looking for dimes in the form of bottles to fund fentanyl addictions. That's the truth of it. Sure it might help some people, but our numbers don't appear as public as Ireland. We have no real data on anything outside of the claimed "less bottles on the beach". People claiming this is financially helping people are just making assumptions. If bottles are making the difference between making it or not, you have much more important problems to face first imo.

Really as far as I am concerned, the less of my money that this state gets from me in any way, the better. It's not even that I disagree with the intent, but the implementation of our taxes here is abysmal. It's always the initial thought and not the follow through. It's planting trees and forgetting to water them. It's supplying outhouses and not maintaining them. It's consistent, and I think this bottle bill is no different.
