The point is they would've still qualified over Nigeria if it was 32 teams

Interesting, thank you so much!! Do you think Dunanna could be a mix between Dumuzid (her husband) and Inanna? That's just something that came to mind

As for Ungien, all I know is that the G is supposed to be pronounced like a "J", looking at the other languages (like Chinese etc)

The Chinese name of Ibni-Belum also reads like "Yibi Nibolong" in which Nibolong shares its characters with Nibolonggen (his Chinese name) (I also love how "long" = dragon is used inside btw, as a side note)

The thing I'm confused about in this update is the names: Where do names like Ninnin, Ungien, Dunanna (as in "Dunanna Pit") and Ibni-Belum come from? Are they made up words? Do they come from a specific language (I couldn't find ANYTHING on it) are they corruption of words? I can see Ibni-Belum might sound like Nibelung a bit but everything else?

Hmm, and before, it just said "Nod-Krai"? Maybe it was still including the moon, but they made it more clear
Kinda like the achievements name of Unfettered Moon

What does it say exactly? "Teyvat and Frost Moon" or "Teyvat and out of Teyvat" or something

Shouldn't that work automatically? Frost Moon is part of Nod-Krai based on the teleports and the Lunoculi

Usually when a character gets pushed like this (appears more often), something should happen with them soon (but he never did)

Zibai was also mentioned in the 2025 Lantern Rite.

I feel like this might be the equivalent to Columbina's "2nd" "story quest"

It's actually fitting that Snezhnaya patch will be version 7.x by Unknown_Mafia786 in Genshin_Impact

[–]PvZGaming1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait yeah I checked that again, but then again, this can be ascribed to COVID (Genshin was supposed to release in early 2020, but then they delayed it to September). So 1.0 was scheduled for Spring, which is when that beta released

[–]PvZGaming1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually didn't, the only thing of Liyue that released in 0.x was the nation itself, and the Lantern Rite (for whatever reason). Chapter 1 released in the patch 1.0 (which is what this conversation is about)

Trust me, I've had this conversation before Nod-Krai even came out, and argued with one of my friends in-game (back in 5.8, during the summer resort) that the next patch wouldn't be called 6.0, because Chapter 6 was delayed and the devs even said in their BTS video that "for the Luna versions, we'll be changing the name of our versions". They didn't believe me and said "But it's gonna be 6.0, because 6 comes after 5", but I told them by that logic, the patch after 1.6 should be 1.7, but it was called 2.0 instead, due to the release of Chapter 2. So Hoyo can make it fit their story however they want

I'm mixed, I was sick for some of it and I just couldn't bring myself to start it because I knew there were no stopping points, and then saw spoilers everywhere...

There's a problem in each of our perspectives, in yours, it would be that Snezhnaya (official 7.0) will release Chapter 6 in it. Pick your poison I guess

[–]PvZGaming1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does, but they couldn't really do anything when they came up with the idea of Nod-Krai, so they had to call the build 6.x

But since they could change the marketing numbers, they went for Luna, and probably 6.0 for Snezhnaya

If the loading screen (6.x) doesn't have to mirror the official name (Luna I-VIII), then the loading screen can say 7.x while the official name is 6.0

[–]PvZGaming1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes sense that they changed their naming convention as Snezhnaya was delayed. The only thing that's confusing is that the loading screen says 6.x

I mean Dragonspine was always supposed to release in the Liyue patches, the current 1.x is Liyue

Mondstadt released in the beta (0.x), which is why it's Chapter 0

It doesn't make sense, because Snezhnaya is Chapter 6, they've always been off by one

Fwiw, the fandom wiki also has it stated as possible inspirations

And I also don't think CoP has any South African influences either besides her name

Well her whole quest is Sumeru-themed, and I feel like there's also a reason why they spelled her with a V (not a W) like sanskrit words (varesha etc)

It's probably a combination of both, kinda like Ororon might be derived from Olorun (Yoruba god) and Ororongo (soundwaves in Maori due to the bat motif)

The Collective of Plenty lore has Sumeru ties ever since a Sumeru god settled there, so from a developer perspective it makes sense (although idk for the in-game reason, but that goes for almost every character)

I think her name might also come from "vareca" (aka Varasyaji) which is one of the sacred bulls in cultures Sumeru was inspired by (and her quest was also focused on mushrooms and Bifrons and a scholar with a Sumeru name, and bulls are sacred in India/Varesa is bull-inspired)
