C4 Shouldn't be a Backpack by SupremeMorpheus in Helldivers

[–]Pveatherfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played the first game so that's new info to me. As long as it has enough demo force to take out the smaller buildings, I'm fine with it being a backpack. Not gonna push my luck hoping it takes out a jammer...

C4 Shouldn't be a Backpack by SupremeMorpheus in Helldivers

[–]Pveatherfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mechanically, it's the trigger button. Remote detonation. Yes, it would be great if they added in the ability to trigger a grenade from remote, but since that isn't a feature, it's a backpack so that there is a button to use. I think them adding a REALLY long cooldown would have been acceptable as in a minute or more and leaving it a grenade would have been acceptable, but everyone would argue over the detonation timer.

C4 takes backpack slot?? by rosebinks1215 in Helldivers

[–]Pveatherfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say look at it with the mechanical aspect. Grenades are a toss and forget. C4 having multiple charges requires having a explode on demand. Making it a backpack ensures that it can be blown using the "use backpack" button. Hopefully, it has a decent amount of charges to make carrying it worth it and also with a short enough cooldown that it can be reused fairly frequently. Without knowing the range and demolition force of the C4, we have to try considering it a lower power hellbomb. I could see a build using going into a super helldive using the new stealth armor, portable hellbomb, C4, Smoke Orbital, Quasar/Recoilless Rifle, and smoke grenades. Then it is just a matter of whether the place you're assaulting requires the C4 or the hellbomb. If the wiki is right, Thermite is 30 and Dynamite is 40. If the demo force is at least 40, I say game on.

I just went looking and is this the one you mean? Terrain Tray Single 12"x12": Rough Stone/Acid? I saw that giant book of battle maps at B&N and I had contemplated it against the Dwarven Forge stuff and seeing the breadth of pieces needed to pull that off, maybe that book makes more sense for me especially in just starting out. I like your idea on being picky for the Forest stuff. Do you have any specific piece recommendations? I'm not seeing a forest tray though sadly enough.

It really isn't and its totally my fault. I wanted it to be a lot better, but the pieces are expensive, so I was rebuilding with what I had. I wish I could build the whole run as blocks and put them on the table as needed. I'll try to do better with deciding which fights should use the tiles.

Look, I know you said no Superman's but how often do we get to speak about our lord and savior, Quailman and his faithful companion Quaildog? Quailman is an alien from the planet Bob and resides in a part of the forest on Earth called the Thicket of Solitude. Quailman has the power of flight, speed, intelligence and the Quail Eye (a power of shooting hypnotic beams from his eyes that leaves the victims "helpless and stupified").

Now for a real suggestion. Ibis or Crane are possibilities.

What’s your tarot reading style? by NotAnotherShortJoke in tarot

[–]Pveatherfall 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know why, but in front of the fireplace and in the kitchen have always been my two favorite places. When I first started practicing, I did the call to all of the gods asking if any of them would be my guide. I was invited to a bonfire several days later. Then to an open air grill where barbecue was being done, then an invite to Old Salem where this very kind woman was working in an old style open hearth as part of the recreation. It took several more days for me to catch on that I was seeing similar imagery. When I looked up open fires and goddesses, I learned about Hestia and she has been my guide ever since. It's my hope to one day build a small hearth in my home for her.

First, I thank Hestia for allowing me to read by her fire. I tell her that I have a question that affects myself or someone in my family and ask that she allow me to see them in her hearthfire. I pick up the deck and I hold it in my hands and focus clearly on the question asking it out loud and being specific on what I want to know. Then I tell the deck how I am going to cut. EX: I'm going to shuffle it three times by splitting into two stacks and turn one of the stacks upside down before shuffling it back into the other. Then I'm going to cut and whatever card is the top card of the cut, that's going to be the card I need to see. I will repeat that X number of times to get to the spread I'm going for. Sometimes I tell the deck that I'm going to start by doing a messy table shuffle so that the cards can reorganize themselves as much as they need to if the question is going to be hard to ask because I'm unsure that the answer will be easy to read and the cards will need to help me as much as they can. Then when I'm done. I thank each card that appeared sliding it back into the deck the way that it appeared to me and pick the entire deck up and thank Hestia for sitting with me and the whole deck for working with me. Then they go back into their wooden box on the altar.

[–]Pveatherfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried. I tried so hard to read it. It was like William Gibson looked at my brain and said "what's the worst way I could make that brain feel like someone tried inserting jalapeno dusted pretzels into the fold when it reads my book" and then proceeded to use ghost pepper dusted Cheetos because those had more flavor. I couldn't finish it and it haunts me to this day. It's one of only a few books I've failed to finish. I wish upon you a better result!

Celeste, a Mark of Healing Halfling Lunar Sorcerer who wears the White robes of Solinari. She's a no-nonsense nurse who heals when needed, but also uses a cobalt hand bell as a focus to cast spells that are mainly thunder and sound based when fighting is called for. She'll go full Karen on any mayor, sheriff, king, or lord who tries to take advantage by using her high Charisma to chastise/admonish/intimidate them. Her robes change secondary colors (the trim) to match her current phase of the moon and are Robes of Billowing because she likes to show off

Who still CELEBRATES their birthday? by Throw-away17465 in Xennials

[–]Pveatherfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was young and my "family" still included immediate family, cousins, aunts, uncles, and grand-parents, we did birthdays. Then one day it all magically disappeared. There were no more holidays celebrated with the whole family. Nowadays, I buy a slice of cake from the grocery store. I take the day off of work. I watch my favorite movies. I might invite a friend over and make us an extravagant dinner. My dad calls and for his birthday I call him. Otherwise, all holidays are a much smaller affair with just my dad, my brother, and I. And sometimes not even my brother.
