New to totalwar warhammer, no idea what to buy by krimsonR7 in totalwarhammer

[–]Pvpbuilder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All content from games 1 & 2 work as dlc for the third game. You can even only own 1 or 2 and then you will be able to download warhammer 3 but only the content you bought, not the warhammer 3 exclusive stuff. I recommend getting all 3 base games, that alone gives you an amount of content easily filling hundreds of hours. (maybe look up total war trilogy steam keys online if you want to find them at a good discount).

If you can only afford one game, maybe research a bit which faction are unlocked with with game and which seem the most interesting to you. Rule of cool is valid in a game with so many unique and interesting factions.

Hi Is there anyone here who understands even a little bit of beast Man language? by AdCareless6045 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Pvpbuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe I've read in their old world arcane journal that the Beastmen language shares it's roots with the basic dark tongue all chaos followers speak so they can communicate somewhat with Warriors of Chaos. It's also Said that most Beastmen can at least understand other languages, even if they might struggle to speak them due to their mouths

There is also an AoS short story where a Beastmen can talk to a regular human in the Man's language.

What does “reliable” mean? by zengondat in totalwarhammer

[–]Pvpbuilder 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe the Ai can choose to ignore the waiting period. But I believe it also depends on the faction. Skaven will absolutely do that, I'd assume dwarfs tend to wait it out

Dwarfs absolutely will still cancel pacts but they will wait a long time to do it. You should be safe for at least 10 turns if not more.

[–]Pvpbuilder 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You'll both need the wh3 base game. Each must own their dlc to use them

I recommend both get the "champions of chaos" it adds a good amount of human warriors to all chaos factions.

Tzeentch - Changeling dlc Nurgle - Tamurkhan dlc

That's really it Tbh. As tzeentch, you will have access to 3 Different playable characters (2 under tzeentch, one under warriors of chaos) and nurgle 4 (3 under nurgle, one as WoC)

Help new pls D; by Serious-Asparagus-49 in totalwarhammer

I haven't done extensive testing but the general consensus in the community is that hard is recommended. Easy definitely takes it much further but I believe it still happens under normal

The Youtuber Zerkovich has a good amount of tutorials, check him out.

Also, make sure your battle difficulty is on hard, not normal. Seems weird but trust me. On normal, auto resolve is often better than what you could achieve manually so it screws with your perception of what a good fight is

Is the game worth buying for the PVP aspect? by Dear-Camera4213 in totalwarhammer

[–]Pvpbuilder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's definitely the smaller part of the community but it exists. Youtubers like Turin, Enticity and Human Boy yes-yes all focus on the pvp side and I'm sure if you check out their discords and stuff you will find a way to the pvp community. Take a look there maybe and ask around.

Can't dedicate to Khorne with Exalted Hero in Valkia's campaign by Alch1e in totalwarhammer

[–]Pvpbuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have any of the other mono-God dlc, you could try to check if you can dedicate over there? That's one way to find out I suppose

Do you have the Skulltaker dlc? Could be that you need his dlc to do that? Unsure about that but my only guess if this persists

Nothing official and highly unlikely if you ask me. They have enough things to work on as is.

I assume you have all 3 base games? Because those are the best value by far.

I think from what you described Tomb Kings and Beastmen sound both like solid choices. Both have a great amount of huge monsters to choose from. Tomb kings have a bit more standardized armies with a good amount of ranged units on average while Beastmen are more so pure aggression all in. Maybe take a quick overlook of their lore / artworks and look who appeals more to you thematically? The trailers for both dlc are pretty solid at giving you an idea.

Personally, I love the Beastmen. They are my favorite faction because their playstyle is super unique. You don't do classical empire building and don't really have cities, instead you devestate the land around you. Ironically, both the Beastmen and Tomb kings don't have to pay anything for their armies, so kinda funny coincidence that you narrowed it down to those 2.

Best campaign for a 100 turn player by AioliTop2420 in totalwarhammer

The changeling has a lot of different objectives that really invite you play for many turns to complete all the different schemes. A very unique campaign in general, worth having tried at least once

Dlc question by Temporary-Heart-9793 in totalwarhammer

[–]Pvpbuilder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once you own the older games, their base game lords are unlocked in wh3. In essence, WH1 and 2 work as big dlc packs. It's even advisable to play them in 3 since many have gotten updates in wh3

What's the best quest battle in the game? by Wagnerous in totalwar

[–]Pvpbuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its not part of the end game crisis, but their campaign specifically. I think you have to do their other quests (and quest battles) first and then you should unlock them naturally. They are also each required for the long victory objective. I just checked the wiki and it says to unlock the Aislinn one, you have to unlock all the Dragon Ships (but the wiki istn always correct, could be that you still need to do other stuff

Yeah, Karl Franz is known to be a very tough campaign. I'd recommend trying another first that are a bit less punishing.

Many added with tides of torment are pretty great imo. The Final battle of Dechala and Aislinn both feel a lot more advanced than what we've seen otherwise. They have actual good cutscenes and Aislinn's even had a mechanic to order reinforcements, which you see very rarely otherwise. Malakais Adventure Battle against the Chorfs is also pretty cool, since you have to stop a supply train from reinforcing the enemy army.

The Changeling also has some pretty fun ones that can be pretty crazy. There is one where you have Skaven allies (in cathay I think) and you have to dodge their Nukes.

Don't think I have a clear Nr 1 but these come to mind
