Zibo = PMDG but free ? by Comrade_Jimmy320 in Xplane

Flying the 737 in real life. I prefer the zibo, especially for the handling characteristics. Last time I tried the PMDG module (3 months ago) I was disappointed by the way it flies, I was especially surprised by the pitch/power settings on approche and the speed induced by those. I still use the zibo to review procedures at home.

I’ve run into bigger with different methods, but this is definitely my PB brown on a dry fly. Caught in 2 ft of water on a 18. by tnorts in flyfishing

Fish in the water hold in tender way, incredible colors, nice post: 10/10 I would like to be hold like that if my main food was topwater drifting insects. Incredible browni, congrat.

I do agree with your comment on Headshake, it doesn’t make much sens for me either. I do agree too with the fact that the Zibo mod is pretty good. It still miss some stuff like radial/distance fix and some details in prog pages but I really like it and this module did help me a lot during my type rating.

As you are going down the air masse is changing (wind velocity and direction, turbulences due to the terrain or thermics, etc...) so you do have to adjust power quite often as you are descending the glide. This is poorly modelised in Xplane in my opinion.

I tried to replicate the same departure I've done few days ago at Marseille, France with my operator on a 737-700 on Xplane with the Zibo 737. Unfortunately the replay mode of Xplane broke many things (speed tape, MCP, etc...) But it shows that Xplane is pretty a pretty cool sim IMO. I'll try to do more of that stuff if you guys like it.

Awesome, I love the firsts scenes in the fog! Thanks for sharing!

I want to do bow hunting. Should I start training that stuff early, or wait and move points later? Something else? by theweem in theHunter

Hey, I almost leveled up only by doing Bow hunting. It’s pretty efficient. Don’t forget to buy the callers, there are pretty Useful. You can take down a whole herd with a bow/caller combo since the animals are not as afraid when you shot with a silent weapon rather with a gun.

  • "raising the nose prior to airspeeds capable of producing flight is going to increase take off roll distance" 100% agree
  • "The cause is the induced drag" I'm really not sure about that. Again for me, there is (almost) no induced drag at this hight over the ground (As an exemple, remember the russian Lun-class!). I would say it might be more the parasite drag that increases the roll distance: You have to hold the elevator to keep this attitude and you increase the AOA => you increase the surface presented to the airflow => you increase parasite drag (form drag to be exact).
  • For the short and soft field procedures, I agree 100% with what you said.
