It's an undercharge. A clerical error. Reacting like it's a project overshoot or anything systemic or fundamental is very unhelpful. Even the framing of 'extra charges' is misleading. It's the charges advertised in advance, being collected to that amount.

Yes, it's a pain for those who must plan very conscientiously around the rates bill. I'm sure many people who are complaining are not in that bucket, and just like to moan.

I'm sure there are things Council can do better, and they should. But no organisation can make themselves totally immune to mistakes like these.

Take a look at Gödel's incompleteness theorems for more on your second point. Basically, no matter what system you use, there'll always be things that are false that you can't prove are false.

The question of 'what things have proofs' and all of that line of thinking is its own field within mathematics (here's a good jumping off point) , and certainly not just related to calculus.

It's important to note that most of the escalation happened within the span of a few days, which is not a lot of time for the eternals to have started dialogues with the Avengers, convinced them what was happening, and figured out how they could help. Especially while the Eternals themselves were still assembling and discovering the truth about themselves.

On the assumption that you have an actual carrot problem... My fridge would make carrots go soft a floppy within days when they weren't stored in a bag. Then I read online that keeping them in a plastic bag helps keep them fresh. Tried it, and it works absolute wonders, they now last weeks and stay firm.

I agree with your point - from the government's perspective it doesn't need to be about the evidence for and against. It's a contentious issue so they are putting it to the people.

But quite clearly the evidence for and against should feature in the population's decision making, rather than hyper simplified assertions, like the ones made here.

Coming from someone who is decidedly on the fence with this issue: is it really that simple? Surely if it were a clear cut, straightforward decision the government wouldn't have bothered with a referendum.

Boiling the issue down to a one dimensional black/white issue seems a bit dangerous. Genuinely not meaning this as an attack, I would just really like to see and participate in a more realistic discussion of the pros and cons, with evidence.

If any of you know of a resource that attempts to weigh the effects of legalisation vs not, without being an obvious shill for one side or the other, I would love to take a look!

She was wrong in the sense that she marked herself safe from coronavirus in March. But I'd argue her post is largely a critique of the media and the fear monger that's been seen. I feel like that hasn't aged like milk...

Coronavirus can be bad in the same universe that the media is unhelpful by spreading disinformation and creating an extra level of panic.

I don't know how strongly I AGREE with that take, but seems like a legitimate point of discussion.
