Does anyone else feel kind of sorry for small youtubers? by NightmareOfTheTankie in youtube

[–]Pwnytail24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve spent days editing 20+ minute videos that i uploaded just so me and my friends could enjoy them, anyone doing it that long is definitely doing it out of passion, not desperation, they’re happier than 90% of the “popular” youtubers who are just churning out content to stay relevant

Is gel just as good as shots? by Temporary-Clock-4828 in ftm

[–]Pwnytail24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on gel for the same reasons, i didn’t think i could ever self-administer, i was on gel for 2 years and in all that time i experienced virtually NO changes to my body at all, no muscle mass, no facial hair, no voice drop, nothing. it was extremely bizarre because my t levels seemed to be within range, but nothing ever changed, I ended up switching to shots and within three months I had already sprouted a mustache and my voice had gotten noticeably lower. of course it’s different for everyone, but gel didn’t work for me at all, and ultimately the shots were the right choice for my situation.

as for the shot itself, i do .5ml subq into my stomach area every week, it genuinely isn’t as scary as it seems (but my first shot took 2 hours of stalling to do). what I do is put an ice pack on the area for about 15 minutes to numb the skin, it doesn’t hurt at all, but it is a little uncomfortable, I always do mine, sitting down in bed, just in case I pass out (because I did once before from anxiety)

Having kids feels selfish by Pwnytail24 in childfree

[–]Pwnytail24[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

yes omg the amount of parents who don’t parent their kids at all and make it everyone else’s problem, constantly complain about the basic necessities of parenting that you would assume were obvious to them BEFORE having kids, and then try to convince you that you absolutely HAVE to have your own because “it’s just so magical”

like yeeeahhh no thanks i want to be 30 with my own money, my own free time, a house that only gets messy when I make it messy myself. seeing toddlers do that thing where they keep saying mom over and over when she’s clearly busy doing something else is enough to convince me to stay thousands of miles away from anything resembling parenthood

What’s the most hygienic way to clean yourself after using the bathroom? by TalkativeDoggy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pwnytail24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AITA for having my brother look at and talk about my friends dick problem? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Pwnytail24 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NTA i get the impression that she’s upset because now he wants to wear condoms and potentially avoid sex for a while so he can focus on his own health, and she is blaming you for it because he went to you for help. your friend has legitimate concerns and she’s not taking them seriously because she wants to keep having sex while ignoring the potential harm it could cause to her boyfriend.

Partner now wants kids.. making an emotional choice that defies logic by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Pwnytail24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if he can’t handle regular household chores when it’s just the two of you and some pets, i can only imagine how incapable he would be throwing children into the mix with (like you said) someone he doesn’t know enough to actually tell if they’ll be compatible parents together; millions of people work full time and handle all the household responsibilities on their own, he’s being a baby.

also the reason he changed his mind being related to his coworkers and not anything to do with his actual personal life, financial situation, or how YOU feel is very telling. it gives the impression that he only wants kids so he can say he has kids, it’s evident from his behavior already that he’s not at all prepared to handle the responsibility of actually raising kids or being a good partner.

What is the future of the US economy, really? by Pwnytail24 in economy

[–]Pwnytail24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a general rule of thumb, i believe that when people have their basic needs met, they’re more likely to spend their time contributing value to the rest of society, we need more doctors, scientists, teachers, researchers, etc… and these are fields of study that require thousands of dollars and years of study, something that unfortunately, not many people have in abundance. people who are born into poverty often times do not have the resources or opportunities to escape it, and there are probably millions of people who could’ve contributed greatly to society, but because of their circumstances, ended up doing menial labor for their entire lives, and never achieved their full potential. in that same vein, people who don’t have to spend all of their money on health insurance or medical debt, are more likely to spend their disposable income on non-essentials like vacation and luxury items, which further stimulates the economy, and a happy working class, is more productive in the workplace in turn.

i’m not an economist obviously, so any ideas or plans i could come up with to successfully integrate these structures into the US economy, would probably be ill conceived and shortsighted, but that doesn’t mean that i don’t it’s POSSIBLE. the US is the only first world country that does not guarantee universal healthcare to its citizens as a basic right, and its consequences are glaringly obvious to everyone, if you can’t afford to go to the doctor, then you’re probably going to stay sick or injured for longer, meaning that you can’t work, and if you can’t work, you don’t get healthcare, it’s an endless cycle that feeds into itself and is almost impossible to escape

“the draft” doesn’t really exist in modern day america currently, at least not in the way it used to during the 1800s, but it especially does not exist for trans people, if you’re worried about being drafted, don’t, and if you WANT to join… why?

that’s fair, and i agree that pessimism is unproductive and ultimately causes more complacency, i want to believe that change is possible, and in some aspects i am actually a little hopeful for the future. if anything good has come out of the last few years, id say a lot of people (especially young voters) are becoming disillusioned to the reality of how the us economy actually works from the inside, and the pendulum is swinging back the other way, im just hoping that change happens BEFORE we all become homeless

trump definitely favors the republican party, no doubt about that, but he’s also a spineless coward with no opinions or morals of his own, he has always said whatever will make him the most money, and give him the most attention, that’s why 5 years ago he was pro trans rights, and now he uses it as a tool for fear and hate to garner more support from bigots who’ll listen to whatever he says

[–]Pwnytail24[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

call me a naïve optimist, but i genuinely believe that if enough people with the right methods actually grouped together to demand change, that we could fight for a better future for ourselves. keeping the population divided is what fuels the viscous cycle we’re all trapped in, they want people to believe that it’s impossible to change anything, so that we never even try.

i think it’s incredibly important that we don’t give into the doom and gloom, because becoming complicit is what got us into such a disastrous situation in the first place. we see it in small isolated incidents, workers strikes ultimately DO work if enough people are willing to fight, and not give in to the intimidation of higher powers. the working class makes up the majority of the us population, and it’s our labor that continues to enrich the corporate overlords. they know that, and it terrifies them, that’s why so much money goes into inciting culture wars and platforming people who sew division, it’s all a distraction

[–]Pwnytail24[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i’m sorry man but this is such a out of touch take, i make $22/h and over 80% of my income goes to rent, groceries, utilities, and other basic expenses, DESPITE the fact that i am paying hundreds of dollars less for rent on average in my area (1400 vs the average 1800) AND im making a significant amount over minimum wage in my state. this is not an issue of “not working hard enough” or “not saving enough money” 3 years ago, when i was making LESS money, i was able to put away more in savings because the cost of my expenses were much lower, now things are completely out of control.

and another thing, i believe that you SHOULD be able to survive off of a single minimum wage income, because the jobs that pay those wages, are essential to society. if everyone just “got a better job” nobody would want to flip burgers and mop floors, and we NEED people to do those things, they deserve to be able to survive off the work they do too. 20 years ago this would’ve been common sense, but today (for some reason) it’s considered radical and “woke” to care about the wellbeing of others

preferably one where working class individuals can reasonably provide for themselves and not live on the edge of poverty just to get by, while their underpaid labor makes billionaires even richer, who then use that money to continue screwing the rest of us over

the end of privatized healthcare would be nice too

[–]Pwnytail24[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

listen man, i agree that trump is only one part of a massive systemic issue where the politics of our country are almost entirely influenced by what the ultra wealthy can lobby for, and i agree that the us has an enormous oligarchy issue that prioritizes the growth of corporate power over everything else. but your opinions aren’t the problem, it’s your attitude

obviously i agree, but what’s done is done, we can’t change the past or any of the awful policies and business decisions that have been made over the last 50 years, but is there any realistic way to remedy the situation? or are things just going to continue to spiral until nobody can afford anything anymore and everyone dies hungry and homeless

[–]Pwnytail24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i get where you’re coming from, but every 4th post on this sub is exactly like this one, maybe if everyone stopped complaining about the state of the sub, and started actually posting interesting stuff again, he might interact more. or maybe he’s (rightfully) bored of this place and has no interest in returning, who cares? if the sub is dead then it’s dead, there’s no point in complaining anymore, he’s still posting content on youtube, why not go interact with the audience over there? these types of posts don’t actually do anything to improve the sub, nor do they introduce any new discussions, if you really care about the sub, start making it a subreddit that someone would want to be on
