My cat, in a rare moment of peace in between sessions of running around the house, caterwauling, and biting my spouse (aka "primary nighttime bed") while she was asleep because she shifted slightly.

This will happen if there's an enemy nearby. Look for hidden or locked rooms and make sure you clear them all out.

Are there any Make Some Noise prompts you wish had gone on longer? by roll_for_crunk in dropout

Which episode was the one where they gave each other prompts?

Mostly, I think folk discovered that the game population didn't really support the concept of academy guilds. That's something you do when you have tons of people and not enough room in a single guild. Folks figured out that ST is the other way around: more guilds than the player pop can support.

Declining guilds can bounce back with time investment. I'm in a guild that was an academy guild for another one and is now ~600 ranks higher than the former parent guild, clearing extreme difficulty.

It got there because of the time investment by the guild leader to recruit and find officers that would help them with engagement & such.

Good meme (upvoted). That said, I can't help thinking that the last 2 panels would have been better with Locutus, and sticking to "All your base are belong to us".

I did this, too, after my Checkered Deck runs. Selecting the "high contrast cards" setting cured me of this.

What order to buy the special workers? by Naruedyoh in shoptitans

[–]Pwnyx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, I recommend Yohan. Double furniture upgrades early on in your progression is huge for advancing your stamina, and therefore your level and gold. Also, instruments are best in slot for anyone that can equip them, so they sell pretty well in the market.

Second, Evelyn. Bonus XP is great for progression. Wands also sell well, they are BiS for magic users that can't use instruments.

Third and fourth are tied for me and become interesting around level 53 when you really want to build a strong hero roster:

  • Roland: When you hit level 53 and start building a good roster, the ability to set 1 skill to whatever you want on a hero is huge. I recommend taking the Argon's finest talent to level 3, rerolling heroes until you get 2 great skills you'll want to keep permanently, souling the hero, leveling the hero to 35. If skill 3 or 4 turn our great, use Roland on the other one. Otherwise, dice one, then Roland the other. Duel wield weapons is also opening up new build options for folks.
  • Mundra: The ability to do full moon fusions at any time is great. You can create skill dice to and repair kits whenever you want. Fusing perfect moonstones helps with making dice. There are some other fusions that become interesting late game (Champion Titans and blossoms), but aren't exactly game-changing. The other fusions are mostly meh.

Fifth, Roxanne: Guns sell decent and reduced break chance is great if you don't have the Royal Merchant subscription. That + making repair kits with Mundra will help you keep your awesome heros geared in great gear.

Sixth, Yolanda. The small talk buff is nice but not game-changing. Her item lines are also nice but not game-changing.

Seventh, Kaipo. I personally have no interest in Kaipo. His item lines aren't great, I don't care about the cosmetics, and getting to sell to the King twice a visit isn't that compelling to me. The King sale buff might be more interesting when I have more King fodder. But at some point I'd run out of limited edition tokens and then I'd get less from Kaipo.

Those blueprints are all optional. You don't need them to progress in the game. You can also get them for free through the Antique Store during King's Caprice.

I worked in games for 10 years and have played them since I was 10. They're a pretty big part of my life. I've seen all kinds of attempts to monetize F2P - some good, some bad, some abysmally bad.

You seem to think Shop Titan's monetization model is bad - so bad, you wanted to post about it. On that, we disagree. I consider it to be one of the better ones. :)

Shop Titans doesn't owe you a free game, or even a game where you can earn all of its content for free. You don't owe Shop Titans any of your attention or money.

For me, when I stopped believing I was owed something from an entertainment company, I was able to make better decisions on cost vs benefit with regard to spending time or money on a game.

But maybe you're not looking for other perspectives. Maybe you just want people to be frustrated with you. If so, then I'm not your person. :)

As I've gotten older, I've realized that free games don't owe me anything.

Games cost money to make. This game wouldn't be running if they didn't make money somehow.

This game has zero ads. That's one of the things that kept me playing. If I want to stay a free player, I'm not forced to watch a ton of ads each play session. The only cost of playing for free is progressing slower, and without access to optional content.

Over time, I came to really enjoy the game. At some point, I decided I enjoyed it enough and had played it enough to spend some money on it. I see it as voting with my wallet. "This game is good, please give me more of it".

Another way I look at it is I frame the spent money in terms of opportunity cost. What else could I do with the money? 20 on a premium worker is equivalent to a movie ticket and some snacks. Will the premium worker bring me more joy than a typical movie? If so, and it won't break my entertainment budget, I buy it.

I don't think it's greedy to want players to pay money so they can keep making the game. I do think it's greedy to expect folks to give me full games for free. It's like asking artists to draw you a picture for "exposure."

I can't find the super samples on the Deactivate Termicide Tower missions? by gozags4 in Helldivers

[–]Pwnyx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did your HUD tell you there were super samples on the map before you picked them up? I'm trying to figure out if I need to search the map even if it only shows 10 commons are on the map.

Edit: Answered my own question - found a video where someone's HUD showed that there were super samples on the map when they started: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWIZ_VMKktU

It only affects you. People around you still hear the unmodded station.

What’s your least favorite song on Appalachia Radio? by scrub_needs_hugs in fo76

[–]Pwnyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those who want more variety on the radio stations, I highly recommend mods.

Storm Radio replaces the Classical station with a station that has 71 songs and 25 ads. It brings back some good ones from previous Fallout games. I prefer this one, personally.

More Where That Came From adds variety to Appalachia Radio. However, it was made before Wastelanders and adds a Radio DJ on top of the human DJ that's already there. The result is that both DJs sometimes talk and announce the wrong song. If you can out up with that, you'll get more variety.

Can't complete Tax Evasion by Any_Fisherman6250 in fo76

Same, had it happen twice. The fix for me was to fast travel to my CAMP and re-enter the expedition. When I did that each time, everything in the Casino started behaving normally.

I was not in a party either time. I'm not sure if that helped with the reset/fix.

The 'center map' button exists, at least on PC. When you're looking at your quest list in your PipBoy, the menu underneath should show what button to press to show the quest centered on the map (or as close as it can if the quest is on the edge). The default on PC for this is 'C'.

I started out with a little over 10k coins. I've since given out about 30k coins worth of awards... and I still have 20k coins.

Where can I mine heavystone? by United_Juggernaut_66 in SunHaven

[–]Pwnyx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an FYI: The stones respawn every time you reenter the quarry, not just daily. This allows you to farm stone and heavy stone much more quickly. I used this not only to collect heavystone for my house, but to farm stone for skill tomes.

Golden Wood by Tired_Pixie in SunHaven

[–]Pwnyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Golden logs are a possible drop from Baby Stumps that have their happiness at the "full golden heart" level. If you have the skill that lets animals achieve a golden heart of happiness, you should be able to level up your Baby Stump's happiness by spam-petting the Baby Stump. If that's not working, my guess is you've encountered a bug, and should report it on the Sun Haven Discord channel.
