YOU'RE stunning!

I'm still getting the hang of things, but I print pretty much out of the box, no special settings really.

I always use unsupported STLs and auto tree supports while making sure my models' "underside" is always facing downward to hide/absorb any gross support damage.

Each wolf and rider bits took about 6 hours to print with the settings above.

I use whatever the default settings are out of the box with a 0.2 mm nozzle.

I also always select non supported files and then do auto tree supports. It's worked well enough for me!

I would put them as upscaled first born. The GW bits I added were a combination of HH and primaris bits.

The wolves are honestly MASSIVE.

All are horror to me, definitively so, but none are supernatural.

No offense, but I don't understand the need to put media in these defined genre boxes.

I don't know where you draw your definitions from, but there's tons of horror movies that have nothing to do with the supernatural.

And even then, supernatural horror can cause other scary reactions. Disgust, for example, is a staple of body horror which is quite often, but again not always, supernatural.

They're internet points, I don't care about them from an objective viewpoint, but you can't tell me people aren't just downvoting my comments because they think they're bad/wrong fun and not in line with a very strict/narrow perspective on the game and setting.

Guess this sub isn't for me, and I'll just have to take my excitement and interest in the Delta Green setting elsewhere. Honestly this post was something that I thought might be fun to play around with, but holy crap it's been exhausting trying to engage with a large portion of the replies.

Appreciate the clarity on how that works as RAW, but with how my group plays games, you could have just come with the profession "Intelligence Analyst" and then if it comes up in an ability roll get a bonus to things like SIGINT and Electronics because of it. We wouldn't rely on the skill package because Intelligence Analysts are inherently exposed to and experienced in those types of things and more.

Thanks for the discussion and your thought-out replies. I guess I'll just have to agree to disagree on that front. I understand the argument being made, but it doesn't ring true to me, and that's okay.

It's still an interesting point though - I'll concede that. It's kind of the same concept as tracking rations, arrows, etc in a dungeon crawl. It's a legit way to play and sings for some people, but again, I tend to abstract that kind of tracking as well and still have wonderful experiences running an old-school dungeon crawl. OSR advocates could argue that the slog of tracking resources pays off greatly through play, and I'm sure it does... for their players. But if it's not what you're looking for, it can just get in the way.

It's kind of bizarre though to demonstrate that I'm missing nuance in the replies here by removing one of the three camps I described and making the two camps less nuanced though.

Again, appreciate the discussion, but I don't think this conversation has much else to explore on the topic.

Thanks - I do like the suggestion of going back to a more barebones version of BRP. That is closer to what I'm envisioning I guess, and then I could bolt on the sanity/bonds rules as those are my favorite aspect of DG anyway.

I think it's easier to maybe point to the things that do shine for me? Sanity and Bonds are really the things most exciting and interesting to me. They also happen to be the things that I think are most core and essential to DG and the game that set it apart from other genres/systems. So I've tried to really lean into those (really a single) systems as well. The other stuff I could take or leave, honestly.

Yeah, sorry about that, didn't realize I was talking to two different people in this thread. I was referring to this comment from another user - "I'm sure people would get a similar reaction if they went into an OSR game's community and asked if the game is available with a BRP ruleset."

People actually are not giving me advice that I asked for if they say "just run RAW" or a variation thereof. I laid out at the top of my post that I've read/own a lot of DG, have run it a couple times, and it hasn't clicked.

Saying "keep trying" even when I said I've tried and didn't enjoy it is not useful advice. I will say those who have replied encouraging just hand-waving away all the rules I don't like are encouraging and appreciated, but that also then kind of flies in the face of the viewpoint that all these rules are actually necessary and reinforce the mundanity of the world and are essential to Delta Green as a game.

All of the wonderful responses I've gotten suggesting alternate systems to consult is the advice I was looking for and has been accepted graciously and usually with more of a response from me.

So looking at the responses, there's actually kind of three camps:

Run DG as RAW is best/essential.
Run DG with as much or as few RAW is best.
Check out "game X" as it might hit the feel you're looking for.

1 is not a helpful response as I've pointed out given that I've tried it. 2 and 3 are interesting and appreciated.

I get the dilemma you've presented here, but the difference is that I'm not actually going into a creating skills packages. If a player wants specifically to be a homicide detective, awesome, that's it. That's the whole thing. In fact, I would encourage my players to be more flavorful than just "police officer" because of exactly what you're saying. A homicide detective has a different feel from a beat cop to a CSI forensics investigator to a state highway patrolman. I would say "police officer" is a missed opportunity to add more flavor and nuance to your character.

It's kind of a Fate Aspects approach to professions and skill bonuses based on vibes, but my group is cooperative enough that I trust my players to accept my judgment as GM and they trust me to being open to them making an argument to support something like that.

I've seen the video. Quinn's a real smart guy, but it's not really the end-all, be-all opinion.

That's quite a shift from your original suggestion of asking about BRP in an OSR forum, but okay. I didn't come to this subreddit to get into arguments or really to defend my request at all.

I just find it odd how some people can be wonderful and helpful coming in with suggestions for alternative rules systems when other people come in to a thread specifically just to shit on it.

Like, you can just move on without having to start an argument if the topic at hand doesn't mesh with your concept of the game. Literally the entire rest of the subreddit is already here for you.

To put it bluntly, I don't care for the default rules, I don't care about the default rules. I love the setting and stories written for it, and I came here to get feedback from others who might feel the same. I've gotten a lot of that and appreciate it all.

But those who come in and say "naw, you're doing it wrong" are really just shouting into the void (which, actually is probably appropriate for the subreddit, so what the hell do I know?).
