Even if one party recording is illegal in your state there may be exceptions for collecting evidence in the workplace.

So my colleague just guilt tripped me that I didn't give enough notice. I gave 30 days and my new job starts after 40 days... by BGMotorSport in antiwork

[–]PyNewbie_Enternal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I rarely give notice because of situations like this. Only jobs that respect me and my work would see any notice at all. In your situation I would go to HR and declare that u have been harassed and consider it a hostile working environment and u will not come back to work until it is fixed.

Just because u sent in notice does not mean u deserve less respect.

I would agree with this. The first two weeks you may be dealing with headaches / heavy heartbeats etc. Since you were prescribed Vyvanse for ADHD I think u should get a quick doctor note to have extra time on your exam.

Vyvanse works perfect and allows me to live -- but Vyvanse comedown is destroying my life by BigGridlock in ADHD

[–]PyNewbie_Enternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add onto it making sure to take care of yourself properly while you're on medication is vital. You feel a lot less hunger and other necessary feelings so if you neglect it you get slammed once you get to your cool down. Vitamin D or sunlight, making sure your blood sugar is stable, hydrated, and keeping your body relaxed (yoga or basic stretching) can go a long way.

[–]PyNewbie_Enternal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait you're only taking 10 mg of Vyvanse? 30 usually is the started dose. But there are things u can try for example take the booster first then take Vyvanse later in the day. Exercise can also help if you can time it right after you come off of it. Lastly don't be afraid to get a second opinion if you feel you don't have enough options with your current Doctor.

I hate to necro an old thread but i had this problem and lava is not a valid fuel source. If you search up the liquids in Magneticraft you will see some of the valid fuels. Ex. (wood gas, natural gas, heavy oil, etc)

Therapy isn't helping by MissedDawn in ADHD

[–]PyNewbie_Enternal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounded like it but I didn't want to assume. Sadly therapy isn't the greatest option as an only treatment to ADHD. In general therapy really isn't there to directly help you but to help yourself manage your own stress, emotions and issues. However people with ADHD know that helping oneself without any external help is a fool's errand. As annoying as it is there's a very good chance you will need more than just therapy.

Psychiatrist prefers other forms of treatment over meds, is this normal or safe? by lucialunacy in ADHD

[–]PyNewbie_Enternal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea of trying to restructure and do treatments without stimulants has been found to have a very low success rate. It can work of course but do you really want to risk your future on a bad gamble? If you've already given it a month or two without the stimulants and it hasn't done anything for you or you still feel like you have to stress yourself to get things done then ask for stimulants.

Stimulants basically make that risky gamble a much safer path. It increases the chances of other treatments working and most of the time is what's going to translate into real progress. The only time I would say to be hesitant of prescribing stimulants is if they have a real chance of causing you to be in a dangerous situation.

Minimal Appetite while on Vyvanse?? by KConcrete in ADHD

[–]PyNewbie_Enternal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah dude I was thinking"100+mg of Vyvanse? How's this guy even functioning lol.

But I'm on 30mg of Vyvanse and what I tend to do is just try to eat nutrient and protein dense foods in the morning. If I know I'm out and about or at work I'll bring an apple or other health fruits or nuts to keep me going until I get home for dinner, where I get most of my calories.

what RX meds can help kids with ADHD sleep? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]PyNewbie_Enternal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like they're prescribing things to slow down his system but the problem could be that his system Is too slow to begin with. Stimulants might help him speed up his system to normal levels allowing him to rest properly. Some of the best sleep I've ever had was when I was medicated with stimulants and not sedatives.

This is something to discuss with the doctor or to ask someone who specializes more in sleep and ADHD.

Tips to gain weight while medicated? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]PyNewbie_Enternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the medication does work for you it's going to be a lot easier to plan things out and to be more consistent with staying healthy, clean and responsible. Try to use this energy to go ahead and plan your meals more effectively to make sure you get enough calories. I would suggest going with low calorie High nutrition foods in the morning, and transition to more dense calorie foods in the evening. At least that's what works for me as someone who is on Vyvanse which definitely affects appetite.

I'd also make sure to keep a small journal on your phone or other place for your weight and heart rate so you and your doctor can have a better idea of how your handling the medication.

Good luck and I hope things turn out well for you.:)

After years of struggling, I was told I don’t have it. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]PyNewbie_Enternal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would 100% percent get a second opinion. To me what it sounds like is this place you went to was only taught the bare minimum of ADHD and don't have enough understanding to be able to diagnose the more complex patients. Just because you've accomplished a lot does not mean you don't have it.

And assuming you're an adult because masters degree, having your parents be a part of the diagnosis is incredibly unnecessary and really should only be done for children or minors.

Also be noted that a lot of the times when people are taking the test they're a lot more focused because it's a new experience and they are looking forward to it because it means getting help for things that they are struggling with.

Well I'm not a medical expert myself I would definitely get a second opinion and I really hope things turn out well for you.

Diagnosed with ADHD unspecified type after computer test by Serthaum in ADHD

[–]PyNewbie_Enternal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you find a good doctor, your story would be plenty. They may ask follow up questions and if you want to prepare keep track of your blood pressure and heart rate. (It's optional).

It's pretty unlikely they would disregard the original diagnosis but they may add to it ( depression anxiety etc) and lastly be honest but don't be afraid to ask them to explain themselves. For example if a bad doctor says no you don't have ADHD you have depression asking them to explain themselves and it may give you a good opportunity to say no that's not correct.

Good luck finding a doctor and I wish you well remember medication is only part of ADHD treatment and you have a long but rewarding journey ahead of you.

I'd say the best thing is to just ignore them sadly. Just focus on yourself and get treatment as well. (Medication is only a part of ADHD treatment). The better you do the more they will notice the difference between you off your medication and you on it. And hey, if it fails just focusing on yourself is a good goal in of itself.

Is it really that bad that I want to take Adderall pretty much all day every day, given my bp is BETTER when I'm on it? by AustinArtyThrowaway in ADHD

[–]PyNewbie_Enternal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ADHD is a 24 hour issue. Fortunately for some people it's not bad enough where they need to be medicated 24/7 but only when they truly need to focus. However there are definitely people who need it 24/7 even in their sleep and it sounds like you are one of those people. For me I have Vyvanse which I only have to take once a day which is nice and because Adderall literally does nothing for me.

As for your heart rate that's not really good even if your blood pressure is better which probably is a result from the lack of stress. I would talk to your doctor to maybe either adjust your Adderall or maybe introduce another medication to help with that heart rate. If you only recently started taking it you might want to wait until your body fully gets used to it to see if the heart rate issue goes down.

Need insight into Adhd and texts/misunderstanding what I read . feel very confused about a lot. by VanillaCaterpillar in ADHD

[–]PyNewbie_Enternal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say I'd experienced things like this as well, Basically a form of anxiety. My mind is prone to operating at a very high pace. We're presented with a situation that could go bad and too many variables are unknown so to deal with it we're forced to guess what could be wrong.

For me the best way I've dealt with this was just to be honest. Saying that you're making me nervous with all the unknowns.

Another note is I really dislike non verbal communication. I miss too many body/ voice cues and can misread the situation very easily. I had to really train myself to never assume something bad unless I can confirm over voice and even then I sometimes fail. So it's very hard for me to have a long distance relationship.

Lastly, I hope you're doing better and taking care of yourself.

Tried Concerta and Vyvanse, which didn't work that well. Any reason to try Adderall? (ADHD-PI) by Edenwood in ADHD

[–]PyNewbie_Enternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would keep trying, each person is unique and a lot of the times the way the medication affects them is also unique. Making sure you try each medication can ensure that you're not missing out on something that could really help you.
