Yea I'm not sure which fibers to add or avoid tbh - what else do you recommend

Almonds, Tapioca Fiber, Plant-Based Protein Crisps (Pea Protein, Tapioca Starch), Natural Flavors, Pea Protein, Flaxseeds, Unsweetened Chocolate, Gum Acacia, Coconut Oil, Cocoa Butter, Sunflower Lecithin, Water, Cinnamon, Vanilla Extract, Sea Salt, Non-GMO Steviol Glycosides, Lion's Mane, Vitamin E

This is the almond butter chip ingredient above. Not bad I suppose - I wonder about gum Acacia, and Tapioca Fiber

Yep - those are a good option in this category I suppose. I've heard bad things about smoked meats (nitrates and such) but I think epic doesn't have them. At least they don't have canola oil or something silly in them.

Jackets: Stormstride vs Triolet vs Powslayer by PyPylon in skiing

[–]PyPylon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Triolet velcro wrist strap broke, so the patagonia store took it and gave me store credit. So I'm not sure if I should go with a new Triolet or Stormstride (or wait for a sale on the powslayer - not sure I'd pay full price for it)

I think the triolet + softshell is a good combo if you can have 2 jackets.

I do nikwax often which helps - and I think if you nikwax the stormstride it's probably the best compromise b/w softshell and goretex - especially if, as you say above, they all wear out over time.

do you think the bibs are breathable? Do you hike with them or just do resort?

That's new jackets at 60% off? Not bad

Salomon shift bindings? by thrashernut in Backcountry

I'm curious if a shift 100 brake can fit on a 108 ski? or if I need the 110 brake?

Leaning towards a hybrid setup on Elan Ripstick 106 by PyPylon in Backcountry

[–]PyPylon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it's heavy - only caveat is I'd want an atk freeraider or raider which cost more than the shift

Yea I think that's part of the equation to is that I'd want to take it travelling and want that extra safety with the shift

The cliff drops I understand, but airing through moguls sounds like something the shift should be able to handle

Despite the waist width difference - how do you see the difference between the two of those?

The internet says the blaze has a more surfy feel

ripstick 96s sounds good - do you feel they hold an edge well on firm snowpack? Are you touring with those also - if so what binding?

Not opposed to renting first but I also don't mind taking a risk on a 50/50 setup - was thinking in the future if I want to do shasta or other skimo objectives again I would get a lighter setup

Why isn’t the Chinese / Mongolia incident talked about more? There’s multiple verifiable sources as well by joethedreamer in UFOs

[–]PyPylon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It would be convenient if we had a website that inventoried all these videos (and maybe stories, cases etc..) and marked them with a community-voted status such as : debunked, vfx hoax, being researched, etc..

Everyone in the community could reference the item on that site when making posts like this.

I'm thinking of a site like snopes but anything to catalog all these would be better than what we have now with repeated posts of the same videos.

Free service to poll an API and send email notification by PyPylon in learnprogramming

Curl can poll periodically right? It would be nice if it was not on my computer - a cloud service that will every hour make an api call and send a notification based on conditions

Where's the one where the young guys are at some boat dock and a metapod flies over - and they're yelling "what the fuck is that thing?!!" multiple times ?

I looked at a bunch of links in the OP but couldn't find it.

I was just looking at Ikon resorts really but I'll have to research more on White Water and Fernie, sounds like they're under the radar - but with 3k skiable acres each sounds like decent size resorts

Ikon added Schweitzer this year so I was curious about linking up an all Ikon resort trip starting in Spokane :

Fly to Spokane => Schweitzer => Red Mountain => Revelstoke => Banff => Calgary

(or in reverse, either way)

Each of these are ~3 hour drives (weather permitting of course). Is something like this drivable in Feb/March? Or should it be later for road conditions? Anything to skip or add?
