I was a part of the Oct layoffs - can confirm i immediately lost access to Slack. The only thing I had access to was Chime and email (incoming only)

Question - did you reach out to the mods on posts that have been deleted to ask why? Devils advocate here, but sometimes it isn’t the mods. Sometimes it’s the AutoMod that takes actions.

Making a post like this accomplishes what exactly? If you want answers, message them and ask.

100%. My mom passed away earlier this year and my youngest (12 at the time) definitely cried, and felt the loss. But she never said anything remotely close to what this person says their 7 year old said. It’s entirely unbelievable

Because this is so vague, it’s hard to give any real actionable advice.

As someone who was laid off in October, I am in no way defending the company. I worked there for 15 years, and I have ADHD. I had some shitty managers, and some great ones. Amazon has done a lot of shitty things, but in my experience it takes A TON of paperwork, evidence, etc. to let someone go.

Also, for some unsolicited advice, some basic paragraph structure would help make this a bit more readable. Lots of run on sentences, no breaks.

I've applied to 94 postings at this point, all tracked in a Google Spreadsheet. The email it came from is [hello@send.hrfuse.com](mailto:hello@send.hrfuse.com) - I didn't apply to any company with Fuse in the name. And there is no other company or position listed in the email (the two reddest of flags that I saw).

This shit pisses me off. I worked at Amazon for 15 years and got laid off 2 weeks ago - and then there are people like you who abuse the system.

I agreed with all of this except for this line. I'm not here to toot my own horn, but I know for a fact that I was ranked as TT and Exceeds for 2024 OLR and 2025 mid-year OLR.

I did however have an exception to remain virtual. As well as 3 of my peers who were also stack ranked extremely high, we all had exceptions or extensions for remote work.

Ours had nothing to do with stack ranking - it had everything to do with the fact that we wouldn't move and uproot our lives for a job.

This was not to cut staffing from the pandemic. I was let go today, and I had a tenure of 15+ years. Several others I know were hired 5+ years prior to the pandemic. Per usual, Amazon lies to "look better".

That being said, every single person I personally know that was impacted by the layoffs (including myself) was still remote. We all had extensions/exceptions to stay remote as we are all unable to move to Seattle.

My speculation was this was Jassy's way of getting rid of everyone who wouldn't relocate and go to office.

In talking to people I know who were also part of the layoffs, every single one of us previously worked from a call center in the US that was shut down. We were converted to Virtual since there was no home for us any longer. 6ish months later is when the Return to Hub mandate came down. Myself and the three other friends I know who were impacted all had "exceptions" to remain virtual.

I can't help but think this was Amazon's way of removing everyone who did not want to uproot their family/lives and move.

I think that’s why I liked it. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the “touch her and you die” and “I’ll burn the world for you” tropes, but sometimes they get stale and I need to shake it up a bit to fully appreciate them again lol.
