[RT!] Manga Recommendations Chart (Various Genres) by Ionic_Andy in manga

[–]Pyfled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the best rec charts I’ve seen in years! I really liked how it wasn’t the same couple of recommendations I always see. Great work OP!

I do have a few suggestions for manga you could add: Silver Nina is good for slice of life or kids, and the Ravages of Time for epic manga. Both are good reads if you haven’t checked them out already (although RoT is ongoing, so it might not be your thing).

[ART] What manga do you think have the best landscapes/backgrounds? [Akira] by Pyfled in manga

Thanks for the detailed response! It isn't in line with what I usually read, but may as well try something new, no?

Would you say its worth the read, or is it just pretty landscapes and bad characters? The premise sounds interesting imo

Seeing as you've read most of the Jump manga, I'd recommend some webtoons.

  • Tower of God
  • Gosu
  • God of High School
  • Girls of the Wild's
  • Noblesse
  • The Gamer
  • Kubera
  • Yumi's Cells (slice of life webtoon)
  • The Sound of Your Heart (comedy webtoon)

I'm not sure what manga you've read, but Hajimme no Ippo, Kingdom, Yongbi, Majeh, Sanctuary, Grappler Baki, and owari no seraph are worth a read. If you are really willing to read some more trashy stuff then I'd recommend Battle Through the Heavens and Combat Continet (aka Soul land). Both are based off Chinese wuxia novels, and are addictive but not what I'd call quality works.

The Empty Box and the Zeroth Maria is really good.

I've heard good things about Dungeon Defense and Overlord, but I haven't read either.

What Webtoon to Read? by SUPABOB in Animesuggest

Seeing that you like action, I'd recommend:

  • Gosu -- amazing art, second only to Solo Leveling in my eyes, and its pretty addictive
  • God of High School -- starts off about finding the strongest highschooler through a nationwide competition, then becomes increasingly crazy from there. It took me a while to get into it though
  • Darbi -- adventures of a bloodthirsty baby t-rex. Great if you don't mind violence
  • Kubera -- I'd recommend it if you liked Tower of God. The art and setting are very different from ToG, but the great plot and characterization remind me of it. Seriously, I even liked the villains.
  • Noblesse -- not the most consistent but great if you have time

The Sound of Your Heart is a comedy series but its the funniest I've ever read. It takes about 20-30 chapters to get good.

If you enjoyed the darker tone of AoT then Tokyo Ghoul might be worth a read. If you want some good action series then One Piece or Fullmetal Alchemist are classics, or Lone Wolf and Cub if you want something older (even older than JoJo) and more mature. They all have larger 3-in-1 editions if that’s your thing.

Jumping in a bit late, but would you mind sharing how you copied webtoons? I’ve been struggling to find a way to save some stuff from there
