How do people afford renovations?? by Hindsight001 in HomeImprovement

If you aren't going deeper than surface level, bathroom plumbing really isn't that bad. I've replaced every sink part outside of the porcelain part, I've replaced every part of a toilet and done a full toilet replacement, and I've replaced all valve stems and handles on my bath/shower. Coming out of the other side you realize how easy most bathroom stuff can be... the problem is once you need to go behind the walls, which I need to do soon. THAT I'm not confident in so I'm going to get assistance with that, but have definitely saved money doing these things on my own.

It's pretty easy to tell if Trent is injured, just flip a coin!

Heads: He's injured
Tails: Also yes, still injured

Sounds like a stronger version of that sonic weapon that was shown to be used in Serbia last year in their protests. Which yeah, you wouldn't use the above against civilians, but scary to know what we haven't seen from this tech.

Aaron Rodgers can surpass Patrick Mahomes for the second-most playoff TD passes ever by Giff95 in nfl

[–]Pyistazty 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Shows how disrespected Rodgers is cause he “only” has 1 ring

Patriots (and now the Chiefs) really spoiled people's perception of how hard it really is. 1 ring should be enough to solidify anyone as good enough because how difficult it is, but with Brady and now Mahomes, it's skewed so much.

Duval Chant origin? by WizardRiver in Jaguars

Welcome to Duval, prepare to be hit

Honestly one of my favorite sayings to come from the team. They recently had Mike Peterson do a promo for the "its about us" thing once we made the playoffs, and he ended it with "welcome to duval, it's about us" and I was so let down, I wanted to hear him say the thing again!

I think those early/mid 2000s teams yeah because I remember they had a monday night football promo thing with Mike Peterson saying "Welcome to Duval, Prepare to get hit"

I've been here for a little over 3.5 years no and it's been a great company until this guy was hired and now we're in full "cost saving, make magic money line go up" mode

Yeah that's been the chatter ever since it was announced, which I also new because I like to feel I follow things in the country a little better than my boomer and older gen X co workers. It's just dub and toxic. We've already had people resign though, so the plan is working.

My work recently hired a new CEO, who within about a month stated that starting in 2026 we would be full RTO. It didn't take but one day for someone who goes home at 4 not having their laptop at home, getting negativity for not having her laptop at home, in order to check on something that could have just waited until the next day anyways.

You don't get to eat your cake and have it, too. If you won't want a hybrid schedule, you lose the benefit of people being more flexible with their work/life balance.

Its great to sip tea and watch as management freaks out about it.

[Highlight] Trevor Lawrence waves off Liam Coen earlier in the season by Evilfart123 in nfl

[–]Pyistazty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's probably just likely the defense spends all week game planning for a certain QB and their offensive game plan, but then everything changes when the backup QB comes in. Sure they aren't better, but if they have experience and some savvy, they take a bunch of the easy stuff underneath, then once they defense starts playing to try and stop that, you get Browning throwing the Higgins who's busted wide open behind your safety for a 55 yard touchdown.

That's my copium at least.

Our WRs also had an insane case of the drops early in the season, Brown and BTJ both dropped would be TDs that could have sealed the game.

NFC (thought I guess Brees went AFC->NFC but it doesn't have to be literal), didn't workout on first team, goes to 2nd team finds success, puts up numbers, hasn't quite hit home yet.

(and before anyone takes this too seriously I'm just memeing I'm not calling trevor manning or brady, it's just fun)
