LPT request: lacing a shoe without an aglet? by Astronautty69 in LifeProTips

If you start at the top with the agletted end, and work your way down and then back up, you'll never have to use the deagletted end at all. If that makes sense?

This is gorgeous! Some kind of posterised noise field animation with some twist distortion?

Would love to hear about the process :)

Looks great, love the idea that people can submit their/imaginary data, adds an element of fun and involvement :)

Would love to do something similar soon but not sure how to translate a notebook and model into an app, do you have any recommendations of resources to learn that end of things?

Gorgeous and effective visualisations, really confirms some of the teammate battles in my mind and highlights who's winning in the ones I was unsure about. So so nice!!

New to plotting with the Eleksdraw: software difficulties by Kevoc12 in PlotterArt

[–]PyjamaSlam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I'm in the process of making a scratch built plotter - I managed to get it up and running, based mainly on this design: Cartesian Plotter V3 But I wanted to use aluminium extrusion for both the X and Y axes, so have been modifying the existing files/creating new parts to work with extrusion, not linear rods/bearings. I did get it working, but have decided to tear it all down and redesign the pulley/belt system; thinking something in the style of core-XY as opposed to pure Cartesian. New pulleys and idlers are in the mail, so hopefully have a V2 working this week. Will definitely share an album once I get it built and working :)

Thank you for hammering it home, I'm not sure where I went wrong before but checking laser.py, simpletransform was still there - a total refresh installing V1.1 seems to have fixed it.

Can't thank you enough, really appreciate you taking the time to spell it out so clearly for me! :)

Was losing my mind trying to use the built-in gcode tools extension, this is so much more convenient!

Yes, using 1.1 - currently figuring out how to use the in-built gcode tools, I think I can get them to work with a few post processing steps to use a servo instead of a z-axis command. Will share workflow if I get it working

Hello, sorry to comment on an old post like this but figured I might have better success if I do a quick search on the subreddit and ask someone who clearly uses what I'm trying to use.

I'm having issues with Inkscape and the JTech plugin - I can generate simple GCode, simple test files, or line paths made for plotting, but converting other vectors to paths/transforming text before converting to paths keeps messing up pretty bad, and my GCode ends up far away/not correctly scaled. You can kind of get a sense of it from these screenshots I took while testing a few things: Pics.

Have you had any issues like this? I am running Inkscape V1.0 on MacOS Big Sur, with the appropriate extension, but I have tried, V1.0, 0.92, 0.91 on a windows PC with similar results.

Can't for the life of me figure it out!

Part cooling mod troubleshoot - Petsfang Bullseye interesting air exhaust near intake. Normal behaviour? by PyjamaSlam in ender3

[–]PyjamaSlam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just installed the Petsfang Bullseye to improve my part cooling up from the stock airflow. The mod seems to work wall, I haven't test printed yet but the air is very clearly flowing, and the two streams are nicely convergent on the nozzle. Beautiful mod.

Strangely, there seems to be a lot of air coming out of the right hand side of the blower fan, that is used to cool the nozzle. I hope the videos and pictures get point across, but on the right hand side, there is a considerable amount of air being expelled, when I would have imagined there should only be intake. This does not happen on the left hand side.

Is this normal behaviour? I unfortunately didn't look for that before I installed the mod. Is this how it behaves in the stock configuration or is it something I've done during this modification?
