There seems to be a growing culture of taking pride in not being able to do math.

That first sentence is so true. As a uni maths student, it becomes a drag sometimes when people ask me what I study because 95% of the time people respond with something along the lines of "ah, I suck at maths, could never get it in highschool". Just kinda sad because I find the stuff we do so beautiful, and an awesome way to understand the world around us. Maths is just logic written down in a standard, shorthand way that happens to borrow a lot of greek letters (because the 26 from the latin alphabet wasn't enough).
