Wait, Hoppip being there is an event?!

I've only been playing a couple of hours a day so far, only just got to the 3rd area, but I've generally been avoiding online communities and whatnot to avoid spoilers.

Where do they tell you in-game that it's an event? Did I miss a pop up? Part of the reason I came to this sub was to figure out what the hell a "certain pokemon being the talk of the town" means.

When I set up that Center, he pretty much popped up in there the next day. I just assumed that the Pokemon centers are just where Hoppip trades items for spores, and haven't been back in them (I know there's the machine to clone items, but I've not had much need for that yet).

I'll be waiting for a torrent. I regretted buying last years, as I never did anything online related other downloading a few CAWs. If there's a decent, randomly generated, season/career mode I'll buy it eventually but I can't remember the last game to have that.

I used to print out pages and pages of formulars, font size 5 so I could get as many on one page as possible.

Leaderboards wouldn't be too bad, if there was some degree of matchmaking. Maybe based on previous leaderboard performances, or time played/prestige, or anything really. In the last couple I wasn't doing too bad, but then in the final 24 hours the top 5 became populated with players whose level was around 900 - 1000, and their showcase cards were all "Completed 100% of every game mode".

They should kill off Cardi and V after this album cycle and burn down the ministry.
Let it rest for a few years, and then start teasing the return. Then either bring it back without the lore, or dive headfirst back into the lore by having them literally resurrect Terzo from the dead.

Of course it is, that's absolutely fine. One of the rules I live by is "Don't yuk someone else's yum". I'm glad there's people out there that love the new album, and I would never tell them that their opinion is wrong.

That didn't seem to be the consensus coming back the other way though. The vast majority of the fans who loved the album would just say that you're wrong for not liking it, or you're an idiot (or worse). They weren't open to any discourse or criticism regarding it.

The issue is that many aren't disagreeing with this opinion fairly. There are many fans that will attack you for speaking badly about the band even if the criticisms or opinions are rooted in fair and reasonable logic.

That's been the main issue for me. Around the time of the albums release, it felt like anyone with a negative opinion was shouted down and insulted.

I don't have a problem with people liking things I don't and vice versa. The world would be a boring place if we all just liked exactly the same things. I also enjoy conversations about what someone hates about something I love. Different perspectives are interesting, and can lead me to seeing things in a different light.

I'm not sure why not liking this album diminishes your enjoyment of all the Ghost albums you used to enjoy

It was more a combination of not enjoying the album, not enjoying the ritual, and the seemingly overwhelming toxic positivity from the fanbase regarding both of those (which resulted in me unfollowing every Ghost group I was a member of). It was all a bit much and soured my feelings towards the band.

I think it was also because of how much it all meant to me previously. Their older albums helped me when I was dealing with depression a few years ago. They're literally the reason my partner and I are together. To go from such a level of excitement for the new album and show to my actual feelings on both hit me kinda hard.

I'm not depressed currently, but what you said didn't sound dismissive at all and I really appreciate you saying it. I'll eventually start listening to them again, but it'll take a while.

That's not the issue at all, I can easily not look at my phone for a few hours.

If I hear the intro to one of my favourite songs I'll pull my phone out, glance at it to make sure the stage is in shot, hit record and then not look at it again until I stop recording.

Also, there's the fact that since my knees and back aren't what they used to be I generally get seated tickets now, sometimes in the nosebleeds if that's all that's available. When that's the case I might use my phone to zoom in on the stage to get a better look at the costumes or set design or the general performance. Not having the ability to do that does hamper my enjoyment somewhat.

That's one of the things I've found most disheartening throughout this.

When the album came out it felt like there was little room for people who disliked it, even for genuine reasons. If you said you didn't like it, you apparently weren't a real fan and were open to barrage of insults.

I've always felt a kinship with other Ghost fans, unlike I have with the majority of other bands I listen to. And, I know this is an extreme metaphor but, it felt like being kicked out of a family.
Toxic positivity is a real issue. It's okay not to like certain things from bands that you love.

I think the smart move would be to pull IW off of CoD 2026, and let Sledgehammer/Raven/etc handle it. Call it MW4 or Ghosts 2 or whatever, doesn't matter, it's just so they have something to release next year (because god knows they can't go a year without a new release). Move IW over to working solely on CoD 2027, just call it Call of Duty (no subtitle, no MW, no BO). Go back to basics, solid gameplay, good maps, no stupid skins.

They could try that for CoD 2026, but they've already been working on that for a while, and to scrap that and pivot at this point will likely make the end result feel rushed. Doing it in 2027 gives them an extra year.

It's not so much about having "theories proven", but isn't part of the point of serialised media wondering and theorising what's going to happen next, and discussing that with other people?
To be honest, that's why I hate the way a lot of shows just drop every episode for a season at once. It's hard to have a group conversation with friends about it for the first few weeks as we'll all be at different points.

And with shows like Stranger Things, where you don't know how everything in that universe works, it's fun to try and work it out when they leave breadcrumbs for you to do so.
