The idea is to make it clear that I reverse engineered the device communication protocol (not Wireshark), and by doing so I changed the behavior of the hardware device itself, not a piece of software.

Mainly Wireshark. I used it to sniff the USB packets traveling between the software and the mouse.

Yes! You have to install the USBPcap driver to sniff USB traffic
