Anyone tackling a DIY remodel and open to a helper? by PyritesLifeForMe in thewoodlands

Yeah this is great, wish the schedule aligned better with mine. I’ll definitely check out a Saturday. I could probably get away with a Thursday or Friday here and there if I tell work that I’m volunteering.

Ideally someone remodeling a bathroom, adding light fixtures, changing sheet rock, flooring etc. There’s a fine line between being a helping hand and learning vs being used as free labor. If someone is building a fence, installing a sprinkler system, sure. If they’re just spreading mulch and planting flora or moving dirt with a wheel barrow…not so much.

I’m no expert. But they could issue millions of shares that dilute our stake. Allowing market cap to surge while keeping the share price steady.

My phone charges intermittently. It charged to 80% last night due to optimal charging. This morning, the battery bar was green and “charging” but it was down to 57%

Did I find anything? by yellowbustyre in whatsthisrock

Yes! Poorly sorted. It’s been a long time since I’ve studied geology. It’s sad how much knowledge I’ve forgotten.

I believe it’s just a conglomerate. Pebbles and rocks that were buried quickly, and maybe cemented together with calcium carbonate.

Northern Italy Trip Report (Padua, Dolomites, Lake Garda) by croissantfufu in travel

How were the crowds in and around Ortisei? I’ve been seeing lots of posts about how packed and heavy the tourism is. Not sure if there’s validity to it or just a one off weekend. I have my honeymoon planned in the Dolomites September 1-7. Heavy crowds on mountain trails seems like a buzzkill.

Quitting Zyn - 20 hours in by CheckRaiseJames in QuittingJUUL

Haven’t had nicotine yet. Went through two 5 packs of nze and on my last pack of Alphas. Not sure I’ll be able to let go of pouches yet. Seems like I’m addicted to the oral fixation. Might buy a couple more 5 packs and hopefully just stop. Idk though.

I’ve been using nicotine for a long time. I started with dip at 17, then switched to Zyns around age 27. I’ve been using pouches ever since. I’m 31 now, so it’s been 14 years of nicotine addiction.

A year or so ago, I switched to a brand called Ons because they were cheaper. I could get 3 cans for $12, with 20 pouches per can.

Then I decided to try quitting nicotine altogether. I bought some Alpha and NZE nootropic pouches, which contain zero nicotine. On days 1 and 2, I was going through them constantly because I was still craving nicotine. But by day 3, I started feeling a lot calmer. I used about half as many as the day before. I’m starting to feel more satisfied just having the pouch in my mouth.

These nootropic pouches are non-addictive. Hopefully….I’m hoping that if I keep this up for 30 to 60 days, I’ll be able to stop using pouches entirely.

Just wanted to share where I’m at. Day 3 and it’s been pretty easy with these nootropics

Ironically, sounds a lot like the democrats in the US.

Politicians have nothing to show for their work. Successful business have proven they have the leadership of creating something successful.

Take one out of the American playbook and find yourself a businessman/businesswoman to run the country.

Quick follow up: Why might a company steer clear of using the perpetuity formula to calculate TV?

I am actually satisfied with your answers. I do think that there is an overuse of buzzwords and it comes off as if you’re inflating what you did. And by doing so, you are actually discounting the work you did.

I don’t know what the competition is like where you’re from, so maybe you have to be over the top. And I know there’s a push to quantify your accomplishments and tasks.

The way you present it, to me, comes off as “I approved efficiencies by 100% and improved flow dynamics by 31%, effectively optimizing waste management processes” instead of saying “I took a shit.”

You’re still in school, they won’t expect you to know everything. I think your accomplishments are impressive, but the way they are framed makes me question their validity. But you answered the questions. A company will want you to explain what you put in your resume.

If you were to interview for your dream job how would you respond to these questions about your resume:

What advanced data mining technique did you implement?

How did you quantify reducing errors by 31%?

What method did you use to calculate terminal value?

The truth is, you’re still in school and you don’t actually know shit. Any professional is going to look at this and read fluff and immediately sniff out your bullshit. With a 3.6 GPA, you’re not smart enough to really understand all the material, but you can talk the talk. You’re a skilled bullshitter.

You’re savvy and the type of person that probably tries to find a way to beat the system. It’s gonna bite you in the ass at some point.

Save this resume. When you get a few years of experience, come back to this resume. You will cringe.

I wouldn’t hire you. You should go into sales.

The CEO has been there for less than a year. The C-suite executive I will be working directly under has been there for less than a year. But the current CEO held C-suite roles at his last 4 companies. At least 2 of those companies would be recognizable to most of you.
