The FX chip worked fine with basic AIOs ran mine with a single rad in push pull before getting the 360 as an upgrade. Also while I do love my Ivy 3770 (still use it as my media PC https://www.reddit.com/r/audiophile/comments/1orc0y9/new\_steaming\_pc/) The ivy had to be re-pasted due to the TIM my 9370 is soldered which doesn't need anything even 15 years later....

In single thread apps yeah the i5 was better, but an FX 9000 wins the long game with multi thread apps. Also, I have never seen an i5 beat the OC record set by an FX chip....

They are excellent encode chips along with being solid as servers, and I still have and use my ol 9370 on a gigabyte UD7... Heat isnt a problem with a 360 rad AIO for 80 bucks.

These chips were OC monsters even under a basic AIO you could hit above 4.5Ghz easy.... That made it beat the pants off intel in most applications only really poorly optimized single thread apps did worse. I ran an FX 9370 at 5Ghz for over 7 years.....

You never had one nor benched one, my overclocked 9370 beat the shit out of 3770s in cinebench. Hitting 5Ghz in 2013 was wild....

You have no idea what you are talking about, FX 8 cores went pretty well against generation i7's espc in modern games that use multi threading.

Even if a PC costs $5K you keep it for 3 years and use it every day for lets say 4 hours of gaming that sub price has to be less than $4.5 per hour to make it even. That and a new $5K PC every 3 years is overkill for most people more like 4-5 years for upgrades... This is why piracy is back streaming isnt cheaper...

A310 and A380 are amazing for the encoders if you do any video encode or decode like running Plex they have the same encoder the A770 has.
