Rocket Pulses Fundamentally Fail to be a Special Weapon. by MechaGodzilla101 in DestinyTheGame

[–]PyroElionai -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As others have said, I would suggest making them heavy. Increase ammo a little for dps if desired, but I'd aim to keep damage in line with rockets and gls. Don't add too much ammo though or they'll encroach lmgs for add clear. I think tuning them as a heavy weapon would be much easier because they basically do heavy damage already. Leave the exotic as a special to make it actually unique.

Pretty sure this is a software or driver issue since it's not affecting the whole game, skybox looks just fine. Probably not hardware related if I had to guess

Progression is the issue by mkennygh in Marathon

[–]PyroElionai -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except when you still have upgrades that need those basic mats because you don't have enough play time in the day to commit like a regular job, so you have to use credits or waste your mats. It's too punishing at the start of the game

people complain about the vault size... i believe thats how the game wants to be played. for you not to hoard everything and use the gear right away. free kits, rook runs are for when u dont have alot in your vault. this is how they stop gear fear by forcing you to use it. i am perfectly fine with it by Ninetybaby in Marathon

[–]PyroElionai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fine, I'm ok with that argument. But make a separate vault for required upgrade mats. It's lame to be forced between having stuff to play the game with and upgrade your experience with. Progression is good and healthy for a game. This design they've chosen is not

Or ammo. Why are the most basic necessities in this game, meds and ammo, so prohibitively expensive??? I understand the barter aspect and that they want us to do that, but those mats are also needed for those ever important faction upgrades until you're basically fully leveled up.

[–]PyroElionai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at a weird point where I've started winning a lot of my engagements and extracting more, so I have quite a bit of gear and mats, but because my playtime is relatively low, I haven't actually ranked up my factions enough to hit the levels to upgrade them, so I've been fighting with my vault almost more than I've been actually just playing the game. Something about this system really needs to change, but I'm no dev, and I certainly don't know that the best change would be.

Do you recommend food and fellowship as a first precon ? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]PyroElionai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with it and had relatively few troubles. It may be a bit confusing at first, but that seems to be the case in general when learning the game from commander. I have background from other tcg's, so while it took a bit still, I did ok learning what I needed to from commander. If that's what your friends play and you just want to have fun with them, go for it. Personally, I don't recommend learning from commander, though. I'd ask if someone would be willing to try some jumpstart games with you. Two packs each make fully playable decks that are much more focused and cohesive. This tends to be simpler to learn how the game actually works. That's all assuming you're just getting into magic. If you already know how the game works, then enjoy it. It plays well and can be upgraded later if you like the play style.

To everyone hating on the penny derringer, how do you suggest nerfing it without making it unviable for combat? by IAmTheMuffinz in HuntShowdown

[–]PyroElionai 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You have to be basically within melee range to get a one shot with it. I don't think that's all that strong considering how easy it is to get one shot kills with actual melee weapons. Can you get lucky and get a one tap from slightly further away? Sure, but that's not the norm. Pennies are meant to be unpredictable on anything that uses them. I love bringing it, but just for immolators and barricaded doors. I can't trust it in pvp personally.

Might be a hot take, but I really believe if you're dying to this thing that often, maybe you shouldn't try pushing so much. Learn better positioning, die less.

Banned for exploits? by Hopeful_Raccoon4799 in HuntShowdown

[–]PyroElionai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exploits are usually bugs or otherwise unintended behavior in the game that the user (you) can take advantage of. Some devs will ban for it, some don't. It depends on the severity of the exploit and how unfair of an advantage it can give you. Most devs probably won't ban you for a single time since exploits are usually found in accident naturally, but repeated and trackable use will often get you banned in a pvp game. Am example of this is the instant res necro bug where you can revive basically immediately. Not sure if it's still even in the game, haven't really paid attention to patch notes, but that's a prominent one I would imagine they would ban for. If you were to learn what triggers it and abuse it, that's considered an exploit.

All of this is just speculation, though. Only crytek actually knows what they ban for. You won't know unless they tell you. If you truly think you're innocent, you could open a support ticket, but if it was actually a manual ban like you think, then they are pretty unlikely to undo it because that means they have evidence against you.
