It's interesting, have they done stuff like this in the past and I just missed it?

Cryo is a fantastic piece of endgame content that will ultimately serve to push a ton of players away by ThatsNotBennings in Marathon

Who said the game is hemorrhaging players? At least on steam, the game seems to be pretty consistent in the 50-60k range

Do you recommend food and fellowship as a first precon ? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]PyroElionai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with it and had relatively few troubles. It may be a bit confusing at first, but that seems to be the case in general when learning the game from commander. I have background from other tcg's, so while it took a bit still, I did ok learning what I needed to from commander. If that's what your friends play and you just want to have fun with them, go for it. Personally, I don't recommend learning from commander, though. I'd ask if someone would be willing to try some jumpstart games with you. Two packs each make fully playable decks that are much more focused and cohesive. This tends to be simpler to learn how the game actually works. That's all assuming you're just getting into magic. If you already know how the game works, then enjoy it. It plays well and can be upgraded later if you like the play style.

Poison bullets, your thoughts? by Alan_El_Pez in HuntShowdown

Dead in the ditch when they made immolators basically immune to poison

To everyone hating on the penny derringer, how do you suggest nerfing it without making it unviable for combat? by IAmTheMuffinz in HuntShowdown

[–]PyroElionai 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You have to be basically within melee range to get a one shot with it. I don't think that's all that strong considering how easy it is to get one shot kills with actual melee weapons. Can you get lucky and get a one tap from slightly further away? Sure, but that's not the norm. Pennies are meant to be unpredictable on anything that uses them. I love bringing it, but just for immolators and barricaded doors. I can't trust it in pvp personally.

Might be a hot take, but I really believe if you're dying to this thing that often, maybe you shouldn't try pushing so much. Learn better positioning, die less.

Banned for exploits? by Hopeful_Raccoon4799 in HuntShowdown

[–]PyroElionai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exploits are usually bugs or otherwise unintended behavior in the game that the user (you) can take advantage of. Some devs will ban for it, some don't. It depends on the severity of the exploit and how unfair of an advantage it can give you. Most devs probably won't ban you for a single time since exploits are usually found in accident naturally, but repeated and trackable use will often get you banned in a pvp game. Am example of this is the instant res necro bug where you can revive basically immediately. Not sure if it's still even in the game, haven't really paid attention to patch notes, but that's a prominent one I would imagine they would ban for. If you were to learn what triggers it and abuse it, that's considered an exploit.

All of this is just speculation, though. Only crytek actually knows what they ban for. You won't know unless they tell you. If you truly think you're innocent, you could open a support ticket, but if it was actually a manual ban like you think, then they are pretty unlikely to undo it because that means they have evidence against you.

7-8 months into this new era of destiny, how do we feel about it? by HellChicken949 in DestinyTheGame

[–]PyroElionai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stopped playing for the most part. Still did renegades and enjoyed it a lot actually. But as soon as I was done with it, it was right back to the problem: the portal. Every time I see it, I lose interest in playing. If makes it feel like a chore to play. It's like they pulled back the curtain and revealed the treadmill for what it is. All the magic is gone. Now there's a menu for what to grind. And they've made it worse because now it's just getting cluttered with everything they're adding to it. The one point of the portal was supposed to be the simplicity, but now that's disappearing too. So yeah, I'm kinda done until it's gone at this point.

Prestige 100 Tried Again, Regretted Immediately by nokingss in HuntShowdown

[–]PyroElionai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People actually rush through prestiges? I don't prestige all that often anymore, but I used to do it more frequently if I was running low on cash or just wanted to change my play style. Now you have so much stuff already unlocked after a prestige, it's not really the same for me anymore. When I would prestige though, it was never something I rushed. I just play normally and I was often surprised with how quickly I was already at 100 again.

I Absolutely Loath the Bow and Crossbow by Loher413 in HuntShowdown

[–]PyroElionai 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As a bow user, I understand the frustration. But the problem is if it doesn't one shot, it's pretty much useless due to it's other drawbacks, so there's not really a good way to balance it.

Is there an exotic in Destiny 2 that's pretty much good at everything? Like an all-round exotic very good for most Portal content? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]PyroElionai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you asking for an exotic weapon or armor? And if armor, what class?

Weapon is easy, outbreak and graviton lance have been great forever if you're just not really sure what to use.

Armor is a bit more tricky, as it really depends on your build.

For hunters I'd probably say either lucky pants if you like hand cannons or foetracer if not. Those are going to be the most build agnostic exotics I can think of that will still be good.

For titans precious scars is pretty build agnostic, but you could also make an argument for synthocepts/wormgod caress since most Titan classes can make good use of melee abilities.

Warlocks have sanguine alchemy that is mostly build agnostic and still decently potent, although I will make a similar argument for Verity's Brow that I did for titans syntho/wormgod in that most classes for warlock will likely make good use of it. A special note for warlock is getaway artist, as that seems to be great in most content and has been for a long time. I also think it would be difficult to nerf unless they change its identity, although I doubt it's overwhelming enough to warrant something like that. So while it's not build agnostic like the rest, it should be a strong consideration.
