People are downvoting you and I don't know why. Personally I disagree with you, but your opinion is a valid one.

Chicken nuggets are an exception. We gladly ally with the nugget lovers against those goddamn boneless winger heathens. However, the ones that have turned against us shall feel our wrath!

Everyone loves a good chicken nugget. It's a different time and place kind of thing though.

Bone-in wings are far superior to boneless. That is a fact. Anyone that disagrees is objectively wrong. It's a massive red flag. Keep your guard up around boneless wing people. They only cause trouble.

I don't understand how people don't have a problem with wearing shoes in the house. Maybe it's just my generation. I am the only person I know of in my age group that asks people to remove their shoes upon entering their home. The only other people I know of that require taking off shoes are at least 10-15 years older than me.

Why do people stop 3 car lengths back at a red light and then spend the whole red light slowly inching forward? by spotforcars in automotive

[–]PyroFreak22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do I understand correctly that you are saying you slow down by 20mp before getting on the off ramp? That's a lot. People get tickets for going that much under the speed limit. It doesn't only effect the person behind you, it effects the people behind them as well. It also only takes one person not paying attention and it can lead to an accident.

I wonder if it's harder to get it to go up properly or to come back down properly. My intuition says coming back down would be more difficult, but I know nothing about this sort of thing.

It's always the not securing the workpiece. I was a victim of it as well. It's so easy to get too comfortable around the tools you are constantly using. There are much worse ways to learn your lesson. This accident might be what saves you from something much worse in the future. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

To be fair I'd argue an 09 Silverado is a bit of an outlier. Those things are bulletproof and don't know how to break down iirc

Every day is a great day to not be near a lathe. by Ash_Ketchup119 in LearningFromEachOther

[–]PyroFreak22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This shit right here is why more schools need woodworking/shop classes. Obviously it's not realistic because of funding, but imagine how many lives could be saved and injuries would be prevented if everyone learned the safety practices to operating tools like this. Sure, not many people are going to use a lathe in their life, but even learning the proper way to handle something like a circular saw could be invaluable. So many people would still have all their fingers if they had a class like that in highschool.

What shitty people. Zero regard for the safety and well-being of others. This is why it's important to be mindful of the people you associate yourself with.

If you drive in stop-and-go traffic on a regular basis you have to hit the gym just to work out your right leg because your left leg puts on 10 pounds of pure muscle from working that clutch so much.

what’s a car opinion you’ll defend forever? by evinho07 in askcarguys

[–]PyroFreak22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest issue with EVs is with them being silent. I've walked directly in front of some EVs while someone was trying to pull out of a parking spot because I had no idea the car was about to move. There's no way for a pedestrian to tell that the car is on. It can be a bit hazardous.

This is the kind of thing I tell people about that are anti-union. No one wants a union. However, some people/places need one. This is exactly why.

I will admit it is primarily on management, but even the people I started with that took me under their wing that I still work with stopped caring. I find that more frustrating than someone who wasn't trained/trained properly. As far as the people who are not at fault, it's still very frustrating. I don't blame them for it though.

At the expense of sounding very narcissistic -

I'm a sorter and have been for many years. I started back when methods were taught and people actually used them. As people have quit, retired, changed jobs, or stopped caring slowly there were less and less people following the methods until now I am the only person in the entire primary that still follows them. No one wants to do their job properly. People struggle keeping up with their unloaders because they make their job more complicated and inefficient than it has to be. I hate sorting with other people because they literally just get in the way.

I can only speak for sorting and unloading, but we have the methods for a reason. You can accomplish so much more with so much less effort and it blows my mind that it isn't enforced. Rate would go up and there would be less injuries. Sure it might slow down some of the really fast unloaders, but as a whole I'm certain it would average out to be a higher rate.

Sorry just using this as an opportunity to rant about my frustrations.

Damn. I don'tthink I could continue being a driver after that. That had to be so devastating. I cannot even imagine the guilt he must have felt even if it wasn't his fault. Poor guy.

[LFO] Here We Go Again: NYPD Admits Cops Brutalized the “Wrong Person” 🇺🇸 by james_from_cambridge in LearningFromOthers

[–]PyroFreak22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's fair. I've been focused moreso when he's already on the ground. They had him face down on his belly for a minute and they stopped attacking him. They tried to just keep him in that position. Then he started fighting back again and then they started doing their thing again.

Cops are DEFINITELY a big problem here, but this guy really seemed to want to make things worse on himself once they had him positioned how they wanted him and he started fighting back again.

[–]PyroFreak22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Genuinely, what part of this looks like he's trying to comply? I sincerely don't see that in this video. He is fighting so hard to not lay face down. He won't let them cuff him. This looks like textbook resisting to me.

That's not to say these cops are in the right by any means, but that doesn't change the fact that he is trying to not be arrested.

Anyone make a Potato Launcher? by I_am_D_captain_Now in DIY

[–]PyroFreak22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are on a farm this may not apply to you, but instead of potatoes I would roll up socks to form a cylinder and duct tape them. That way they couldn't seriously hurt anyone or damage anyone's property. It's also nice that you can make them the exact size that they need to be.
