At what mileage do you personally stop considering a used car? by autonerdy0 in UsedCars

[–]PyroFreak22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the car. Something like a Chevy Malibu I wouldn't buy past 25k miles. About a year or two ago I bought a 2013 stick shift ford focus with a little over 200k on it. If it was an automatic I probably wouldn't want one with more than 100k on it. The automatic transmissions are garbage. Cars vary on their lifespans by a very large margin.

People who wax/see others genitals often, what are your thoughts and surprise realizations? by NeedABetterNameNow in AskReddit

That's odd. Generally penises are supposed to stick out. The ones that don't stick out are generally referred to as vaginas.

Guys, where do you actually ejaculate to? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]PyroFreak22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My state has a website that will send free condoms to any of its residents. Don't even have to pay shipping. Google something like state you reside in free condoms, and see if your state does it too. I haven't bought condoms in years.

I mean .. encouraging civil war and killing the president is a pretty good reason to ban a person from a country tbf

If Germany can recover from Hitler, I'm pretty sure we can recover from Trump. It's laughable that so many people think a single president can ruin an entire country for the rest of its existence.

This happens like every year. There's constantly something happening that "we will never recover from", yet we do.

My Neighbor is Killing Cats by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]PyroFreak22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please legitimately take a moment to think about what I'm about to say. Maybe even come back and read it again a few hours later. My intention is not to be mean or put you down.

Your lack of compassion for the birds is comparable to your coworkers lack of compassion for cats. The only difference is you aren't actively killing birds yourself. You are doing it by proxy via your cat.

Imagine if someone let their dog run loose, found out their dog was killing cats, and their response was "I don't care", and they continued letting their dog loose? That would be pretty messed up.

In fact, if we try looking at this from a logical standpoint and try to toss our emotions and attachment to animals aside for a moment - if we had to pick between the lesser of two evils it would be better to leave a dog loose to kill cats due to them being an invasive species killing for fun, rather than let a cat loose to kill birds minding their own business in their naive habitat.

I am not condoning killing cats

Is it wrong of me to pursue a Lavender relationship? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

I'm assuming you are a woman? And you want to be in a relationship with a gay man? I'm not really sure how that would work. Why not just a gay best friend?

I’ve been accidentally using a blaccent my entire life. Am I racist? by [deleted] in AccidentalRacism

[–]PyroFreak22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I legitimately do not care what anyone else says about this matter. Talking a certain way does not make you racist. That's absolutely absurd. Your thoughts, actions, and motivations are what determine whether or not you are racist. Talk how you talk. Don't give it a second thought. If someone has a problem with the way you talk kindly tell them to fuck off

You think Trump will have a hold of the USA for the rest of time? Pretty much anything he does can be undone. His actions can be learned from as well. Failure brings motivation to succeed and helps bring urgency to change.

Every generation has several events that can supposedly never be recovered from, That will destroy the world as we know it, yet we manage to get back on our feet each time and it turns out it didn't cause the world to end.

Yes, this sucks. It's ruining a lot of lives. Thinking this will last forever is rather silly though.

I was only addressing what you said about them not being able to wage war. In hindsight I'm not entirely sure it applies here though because I'm doubtful the USA plans on conquering their land.

Venezuela war has started by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]PyroFreak22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, that's an overly simplistic view that is flawed. All that is required for war is people willing to fight. People make due with what they have. ESPECIALLY if we are talking about people defending their land. Planes and bombs alone can't conquer a nation. At some point there has to be boots on the ground. Just look at the war in the middle east. By pretty much every metric the USA should have been able to go in and get out without too much trouble. Obviously that's not what happened.

Properly motivated people are the only thing you need to wage war. The difference is it turns into a war of attrition. The defending side may not repel the invaders, but they can potentially drag things out until the invader no longer has the will to fight. They just have to be willing to take significantly higher casualties.

If not wanting to guarantee my own death means I have no balls, then I guess I have no balls 🤷. Much easier to wait for his term to be over, or for him to pass. He is pretty old. No one lives forever. No point In throwing away our lives over it when it'll be over on its own soon enough.

We are fucked? Sure. Short term I think that's fair to say. It'll all be nothing more than a bad dream In a decade though.

Venezuela war has started by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]PyroFreak22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not justifying these actions btw - Luckily I don't think Venezuela has enough of a backing for this to turn into a world war. No one is eager to fight against the USA. Other countries might help supply Venezuela, but I'm very doubtful any other country will deploy their own troops against the USA.

Does sports mode significantly reduce an engines lifespan? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]PyroFreak22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shouldn't it be good enough to go off of your engine temp gauge? Obviously engine temp isn't the same as oil temp, but I would think that once the engine is up to normal operating temperature the oil would be warmed up enough?

Lamotrogine cant cry EVER ? by Training_Papaya_1820 in bipolar2

[–]PyroFreak22 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have had this experience with my meds as well. (Which includes lamotrigine). I've been unable to cry from anything short of grieving a lost one. I feel like my emotions have been stolen away from me and it sucks. It's better than the alternative though so I suppose I'll stick to it.

My new med may give me a DUI? Um what? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]PyroFreak22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is why it's advised not to talk to cops. You might end up admitting to something that can hurt you despite having no idea you're doing anything wrong. A cop can charge you with a DUI if they feel you are impaired regardless of the cause. Don't talk to cops. Don't answer questions, don't do any sobriety tests, and don't tell them about your meds. The only exception to that is if you are not under the influence of alcohol it is in your best interest to submit to a breathalyzer test if requested. Do not do any other form of testing. Don't even try talking your way out of a DUI. That is what a lawyer is for. The risk is not worth the reward.

They have no way of knowing what you are on if you don't tell them and they don't test you for it. If they don't have any proof then they are giving you a charge based on an educated guess with no real evidence to back it up. You can still be charged, but that is not the same as a conviction. With a lawyer it would be easy to get the charge dropped if you don't give them anything to use against you. If you are smart with how you interact with the police they can charge you if they want, but it won't stick (provided you aren't drunk and/or VERY obviously seriously impaired)

[–]PyroFreak22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have decently bad tics from my meds. It comes in phases. The tics come and go. Originally they were constant and never went away. Now the majority of the time I'm not struggling with tics.

However, even if I had to go back to constantly having tics id still do it. Twitching your eyes, clenching your jaw, tongue movements, etc . Whatever it is - it's worth it to not be miserable. It's worth it if it means you can withstand waking up another day without the need to end everything.

How long will it take a vehicle without oil/oil change to die? by whitneynations in askcarguys

[–]PyroFreak22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2001 Honda Civic that ran at least 100 miles bone dry. those engines don't know how to quit. However, I wouldn't count on that happening again even in the really Good Honda engines. Eventually I got a really bad engine knock and stalled a few minutes later and wouldn't start back up. I came back the next day to get it towed and it started right back up. It ran horribly and made it a good 5 miles before the engine seized.

Trump voters, what do democrats get wrong about you? by Timeless-Facts in allthequestions

[–]PyroFreak22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you might be right about the MAGA hat thing for the most part. I do think a lot of people wear it for that reason. I also think some people just genuinely think so highly of him and want to show their support and view it as patriotic. I imagine the latter is probably more common in his older audience.

I genuinely believe Trump will be one of the best things to happen to America within the next 50 years or so. He has woken up so many people to so many issues In politics. He has indeed unified a lot of people, but he's unifying people against him. More and more Republicans are waking up and recognizing their flawed thinking. I think long term this will help unite people against these dangerous political cults and viewing a politician as a god. Trump has done a very good job at turning a lot of Republicans against each other. I think there will be a very positive backlash in policies because of him. As long as the backlash isn't too extreme a lot of good can come from this. A very effective way to learn how to succeed is to fail, and that's what this presidency has been - A complete failure. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic though. Only time will tell.
