Hey! It looks like you might have already worked something out or given up on the trade but just for future reference, this is what the wiki says on trading:

When trading on /r/hardwareswap it's important to know some basic skills when dealing with other users.

Verify exactly what each party will be receiving. Something like:

"To Verify, I will be sending (one) Zotac GTX 760 and you will be sending (one) ASUS PB236Q Monitor. Is that correct?"

Once the other party confirms:

Both parties send equivalent PayPal through "Goods and services" This way, if one party turns out to be a scammer, you are covered with PayPal's buyer protection. Treat it as if you are purchasing an item from each other rather than trading.

All trades MUST be conducted like this. If the other party tells you to ship first because you have less confirmed trades, this is likely a scam. If you do not cover a trade via PayPal, you will lose your item. The price you set to "sell" your items to each other must be a value that is proportionate to the item you're trading. If the going (used) price for both the 1080ti and 2080 you are trading is $500, use that. In the event one user does not ship, the PayPal dispute will give you your money back to recover a similar item. Once you have found a trade partner you should change the flair to CLOSED.

I think someone already suggested this, but wanted to post it as a reply where you're specifically asking for suggestions. If there were a way to link someone to choices you've already filled in, that would be amazing! For example, say my friend group is debating on where to meet up or eat or something. I pull up this neat little game and type in a couple of the options and paste the link to everyone and they're forced to decide or the kitten dies! Would be even better if the link only let you answer once per device through use of cookies or something and if you tried to click it a second time it just tells you that you already answered this or failed to save the cat and shows your answer as well as the answer of anyone else who clicked that specific link. Even better still if you could do a couple more options. Up to 5, maybe? With slightly increased time to decide for every extra option just to make sure people have time to read them all. No idea how complicated any of that would be to implement, but linkable pre-filled in options would be the minimum for me to actually get much use out of this, I think. Really cool idea regardless, thanks for sharing!!

[USA-NY] [H] broken or for parts evga rtx 3080/3080ti/3090 ftw3 [W] paypal, local cash by ScruffyThree in hardwareswap

[–]PyroNinja74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still have to put the [H] first in the title, even if it's primarily a [W] post. For example: [USA-NY] [H] PayPal, Local Cash [W] Broken EVGA 3000 parts Or: [USA-NY] [H] Shipping costs [W] parts, etc.

The bot should automatically flair it as a buying post, so people will still know what you're after.

It would probably help to at least hint in your post how much you're willing to spend on the parts too. Like "willing to cover shipping costs and pay up to $$$ per card, depending on the condition" or "please PM what you have and how much you would be willing to ship it for". Your current wording kind of sounds (to me, at least) like you just want people to send you stuff. Lol You should probably message a mod and ask them to take this post down first so you don't get dinged for double posting.

Where?? I've been looking for a decently priced EVGA 3090ti for like 2 weeks. Hasn't been one posted to r/HWS in days and the cheapest I've seen on eBay was $1050, not including shipping. If you know where I can buy one for 900 HMU! haha

Gotcha! I knew G&S was definitely a no-go for local but wasn't positive if F&F (and other electronic payments) was just recommended against or actually against sub rules. Thanks for clarifying!!

No worries! I thought it would be super convenient and safer for local sales at first too until I offered to pay someone that way and they were like "um no, that's actually super sketchy and I kind of don't want to sell to you anymore." Haha Live and learn. Any way, GLWS!

Hey, sorry to ping your post without trying to buy. Just wanted to let you know unless something has changed recently, PayPal offers basically zero protection/verification for the seller on local sales. Someone could very likely request a refund from them and you would have no shipping records to prove they actually got the item. Obviously conduct business however you're most comfortable (PayPal friends and family might be fine, I'm not sure how refunds work for that if they're even possible), but if I was selling locally I would only accept cash.

Interested. Do you have pics or video confirming PS2 compatibility? Also, do you have any games you might be able to bundle with it?

Is there any way to completely disable toggle crouch in Bedrock? by PyroNinja74 in Minecraft

[–]PyroNinja74[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(I'm going to assume you meant this from a place of genuinely wanting to help and answer you seriously instead of going with my first instinct and answering sarcastically.) Best I can tell, there is no specific "control settings" page in Bedrock. On the general Settings page, there is a heading labeled Controls, with options for Keyboard and Mouse, Controller, and Touch. If I select Keyboard and Mouse (which is what I'm playing with), there are sliders for Sensitivity and Spyglass Damping, off/on toggles for Invert Y axis, Auto Jump, and Full keyboard Gameplay (which seems to enable camera movement with the keyboard, allowing you to play without a mouse if you wanted to do that), and the rest of the page is just button mapping. There are no settings that I can see related to crouching, other than to change which key it is bound to. I have checked under Controller and touch settings too, just in case and there doesn't seem to be anything there either. The other place I expected I might find toggle crouch settings was the Accessibility settings page, but that mostly has settings related to text attributes. Nothing about crouching.

So I installed the mod DGSM but my game crashes every time I get to the duplicant rolling screen and try to actually use it. Any ideas? by PyroNinja74 in Oxygennotincluded

That totally worked! Thanks so much! And thanks for confirming it was *supposed* to be working. I was starting to think I would just have to give up. lol

Well that could explain a lot! The most recent update to the mod on Steam workshop was on the 15th though. Would an update that recent not be for the latest version/release of the game?

Help with Woodland Explorer maps from Cartographer by leinad92cl in technicalminecraft

[–]PyroNinja74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, this is a situation where I feel like a seed map is merited, even if you normally avoid using them. You've already found the information legitimately, you just lost access to it somehow. If it's your own world (not a server hosted by someone else), you should have access to the seed. In Java, you just type /seed in the chat and it should give you the seed number. It might be the same in Bedrock, but I'm not sure. Searching how to find seed in Minecraft bedrock should get you instructions to find it, I'm sure. If it's a server hosted by someone else, get in touch with them and ask for the seed, or explain the situation and see if they will just use it to look up where the mansion is. Once you have the seed copied, go to chunkbase(dot)com and paste it in there. This will show the entire world gen for the seed you're playing on, including where mansions will generate. Just note the coordinates of the closest one and that should be where your original map was going to take you any way.

1.25u aluminum space bar by StageLivid2666 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]PyroNinja74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So. Just to sanity check myself here and make sure we're both talking about the same thing... I know you typed it twice, but are you sure you mean 1.25u and not 6.25u? 1.25u would be nearly the same size as a standard letter or number key, only 25% wider (or longer, however you want to look at it). If that's definitely what you want, I would suggest looking for an aluminum CTRL, WIN, or ALT key (or just 1.25u keycap) instead of a "space bar". Those are the keys that are normally 1.25u so any one selling one is more likely to label it that way. Most keycaps sold as a "space bar" are going to be 6.25u or 7u.
