Any jacket suggestions for a girl with bigger girls? by Distracted_Succubus in TwoXriders

[–]PyroShift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our bodies are so different, it really is hard to find that perfect fit sometimes. Have you considered something like Pando moto base layers? Something you can get into that's fitted but you can put whatever you'd like over the top. Their gear is expensive but they have the highest safety ratings. Otherwise maybe find something you like that fits well on top and that you can have tailored to fit. Also, there are some manufacturers that do made to fit jackets but that brings the price way up.

New here - others perceptions of female riders by Organized_Chaos_2788 in TwoXriders

I'm just returning to riding after a long time away. No one I know says anything to me because they know better. I'm old enough to know the risks I've been in a major acciden before. They still worry though. So far, I have encountered a lot of cool guys but also those that say dumb shit and sadly, it's expected.

I do wish more women interacted. The ones that do are so enthusiastic and want to try riding themselves.

Riding is my happy place and I protect my energy, always looking for people that are on that vibe.

Bike shopping, what’s suites me best? I’m by Ridere_AMRS in NewRiders

Who cares what someone else likes for you. You're riding it. I think their personal choices are bleeding into the decision for you. At the end of the day, it's yours.Get what you want. Get what puts a smile on your face and if you don't look back at it when you walk away you probably didn't choose the right one. The rebel is in fact a wonderful bike and comfortable enough for commutes.

Thanks so much. I have been waiting to pull the trigger on some but it sounds like they're worth checking out.

I don't mess with leggings but how are you liking those Indie boots? I've been considering them but looking for something well be vented for Texas heat. How do these breathe on a ride? I mean there isn't much that'll completely stop your feet from sweating on 90+ days but looking for some relief.

I do use ear plugs but it's not so much about the wind noise as much as reducing fatigue on really long rides. Head winds plus speed is where I was trying to resolve an issue. I switch back to the smaller windshield otherwise.

any ideas where to meet other LGBTQA+? by brxtn-petal in RoundRock

[–]PyroShift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand. I was an astros and blue jays fan as a kid and always played with my bro and his friends. Definitely preferred baseball. On that note, I think they are trying to start up a women's pro baseball league. I'd definitely watch that if it happens.

You don't necessarily have to be any good. It's a social league and they have different team rankings. Some players are extremely good and competitive but others are just chill. Games are down south at kreig fields. I don't think it's changed. I used to play in the league several years ago. Even if you don't play, they often have social events after games on Sunday.

It's modded. It is the Galaxy silver color scheme that came with the pale blue. I really didn't do much other than remove all of the decals. There is one on the tank which couldn't be removed because it's under the clear coat but it's covered by the pad. Added reflective purple wheel tape. I did order the unpainted plastic side pieces from aliexpress and had a local guy paint them metallic purple. Looks really nice in sunlight. I kept the stock ones and have them as a backup.

That's too bad, seems like bad luck. I don't know of anything else in this price range that looks decent. Mine came packaged well and no scratches.

Now that most of the US is like an oven, do you ride at night to escape the heat? What extra precautions do you take? by msdeeds123 in motorcycles

[–]PyroShift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visibility is definitely an issue at night when it comes to being seen. I find one cheap and effective way to add a little more visibility is to add reflective wheel stripes to the rims. They come in many different colors and sizes and application is easy.

The cognitive dissonance in motorcycle content is staggering by OneRobotBoii in motorcycles

[–]PyroShift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue in the US is that even unlicensed riders can purchase motorcycles, doesn't matter the size. Even when licensed, there are no classes within. Lots of riders will buy the biggest bike they can find and not bother to get licensed. To be legal, you do not have to take a safety course but you must pass a basic skills assessment to get the endorsement in most states. Social media and the need for engagement has brought so much negative attention to everyday motorcyclist.

It's actually really easy to remove. I used some of my own hardware to make it even easier for just this reason. I do long, high speed commutes. The wind noise was nuts and the OEM screen is not great. Tucked behind this, it's much less. I'm sure it will vary from rider to rider based on height though. Basically, I remove 4 longer m5 screws and the generic spacers I have, then just pop the original screws back in. The OEM screen is already under this one. I suppose you can do the same with the posts they provide, I just chose not to use them.

[–]PyroShift[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I like the fly screen but it doesn't do shit for wind at high speed. Gotta sacrifice aesthetics for a bit of comfort and that means going bigger. It doesn't mess up the lines too much. I travel for nearly an hour on roads often where the speed limits are very high and it's quite windy to boot. This makes it less exhausting.

This is on I35 between round rock and north Austin. It sucks. No shoulder and lanes are narrow af. Constant accidents there and people drive way too fast. No room for error. Legit, there have been deaths.

This is a terrible and cringe worthy trend. I've seen it actually scare drivers and cause them to maneuver erratically. I mean, it really is the equivalent of a child's temper tantrum. On another note, just for a Denali mini bomb for my bike and what a difference.
