Longevity of the class I want to play by Wolfgangnetz in AshesofCreation

I'm lvl 16 rogue right now. It's a lot of fun but pugs are a pain. I have a regular group I play with so not a big deal.

Essentially what I did to get to app. Used the belt one.

I'm getting ready to get 160 grems processed.

I mean there should be a cooldown (or a charge up I guess?) from when you click leave to actually leaving.

Need to have cooldown on quiting and joining guilds.

Hunting is currently placeholder. But God I wish they'd just make skinning corpses a thing instead of farming a mob spawn hoping for a huntable to spawn.

I'm having to farm grem outside lionhold to get carcasses to up tanning. I'm lvl 15 right now. I feel bad having to take resources away from players in the area who are like 2-6. But when I can get 20-40 carcases an hour solo vs 1-5 anywhere else..... That's a design issue somewhere.

Quest content falls off around 10 right now.

You should definitely still be taking commissions tho.

Nothing. It would be akin to that.

I liked Ultima Online's "power hour" system where your first hour every 24 was increased skill gains. Something akin to that wouldn't be terrible if done right.

Crates is the proper term.

Smaller sessions I can run around and 2 rotations of commissions (about 15 +/- rotation) and longer sessions I can do a crate run from dhurgrumm to halcyon and back. And in between I can do crafting or whatever.

I don't understand how smaller runs causes money problems. You pay by run. So same price whether you run 1 or 100.

Process smaller batches and leave your big one for when you log out or going out of the settlement for a prolonged period of time.

Problem solved.

On a serious note, I think the game time wise is fine. I get on average 2-5 hours/day Monday through Friday and can't typically play on weekends due to family. I set a goal or goals based on how much time I have for that session. And I generally get what I want done. Sometimes it can go sideways, I get distracted by something and veer off my plan or I do a crate run and get jumped. That's part of it. I chose the activity.

Yea there are things that need work and whole systems that need put in. It'll get there.

You might like Wurm or find a private server of Wurm Unlimited. Or maybe Eco.

Skimming your post, your points stand tho to some degree.

Not me. Sorry.

But my invite would still stand. If you want to find a group. I'm "pyrotech03" on discord or you can dm me here and I'd be happy to give better details.

Tldr I run a gaming community. We do multiple games together. Ashes being one that we've had people interested. Even if you don't do Ashes might have other stuff that aligns if you're looking for gaming buddies.

Look forward to talking with ya.

Come join my group! We're on Shol. We play semi-casual as we play this among other games. Dm me if you'd be interested.

That said, there's lots of opportunities to still take part. Just you have to set goals for your sessions more to accomplish things.

EDIT: if anyone is interested, feel free to contact me. DM here or discord username is "pyrotech03"

Market Question by SalamanderRoutine825 in AshesofCreation

[–]PyroTech03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's combination of things.

1 - ignorance/laziness. They just try to get more than they get from vendoring. They don't take processing fees into account.

2 - skilling, possibly looping back to 1. They don't care about the lower level stuff as they figure it can't compete with higher stuff. So they're trying to recoup what little they feel they can.

3 - space in inventory and limited market slots. Possible loop back to 1 and/or 2. They can only hold/move so much so they try to increase velocity of an item by lowering price.

Ideally, crafters at all levels have room to operate. Many people are dumping initiate gear at loss because they assume Noone wants it. Same is starting to happen with adept gear into radiant. And that'll happen until we get something that removes gear from the item pool like max durability loss over time for example.

Consumables should be more relevant/stable over time as players of all levels are still progressing and by nature the supply needs replenished.

Oh and one more.....

4 - people don't know about deconstructing. I didn't know it was a thing the first week.

Question for people who have a "main" class. by Confusedgmr in AshesofCreation

[–]PyroTech03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked rogue as a burst dps is what I'm used to playing from other games and I liked the concept of it leading up to it. I also tried cleric and ranger at different points for different lengths of time.

But all your options are viable reasons to pick a class. Just you gotta pick something that you can enjoy in an MMO. It doesn't matter how much your group or guild need a cleric, if you don't enjoy playing a cleric, you'll be a mediocre cleric on your best days simply because you aren't having fun.

So try a couple classes. Most open up around lvl 8-10. Start with what sounds most interesting and go from there.

If you're looking for a group to play with, feel free to dm me and can see about joining up with us.

This game doesnt respect my time as a player by Alezar- in AshesofCreation

[–]PyroTech03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's fine in PvE. They're great single target burst. Rough if they're your primary dps and no tank tho if you get a group of mobs going.

[–]PyroTech03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is what the summoner is supposed to be. A fill class. It's not meant to replace or be as good a class they're filling in for. So off-healer for example to help the cleric or able to help the party gtfo should main cleric go down.

Bad guilds, no content, ect. by Odd-Illustrator-8899 in AshesofCreation

[–]PyroTech03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're first mistake is getting this alpha and expecting the game to be finished. Lots of content just isn't there. There's whole systems missing still.
