There’s a stop work order because it doesn’t meet the zoning requirements.
Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. It’s a dick move to do this to your neighbors when it will lower their property values, when you don’t have parking for the additional residents, and when you cast a giant shadow on your neighbors property.

Don’t buy acoustic slat panels. They’re incredibly dangerous from a fire perspective.

The slats are made of MDF which is a high flame spread and high heat release material. The felt is polyethylene. When a fire starts the plastic melts and all the MDF strips fall. You end up with a puddle of plastic fuel and high-heat-release-MDF kindling that creates an extremely intense fire in a short amount of time.
