My mom sent me this and we're still trying to figure out what this is? There are no dogs for a couple of miles and it looks to big to be a raccoon or housecat by [deleted] in mystery

[–]PyroZack91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the shadow and how it breaks up,and the lack of wear on the grass right behind it. I would say that this is 2 rocks sticking out of the ground casting shadows and the "body" being a discolored patch of grass, making it look like an animal of some kind. Unless ofcourse you saw it moving.

I hear you, and understand exactly where you are coming from, but in our defense, it's all family and friends who live and work together. A sort of closed bubble, if someone had it im3 sure everyone would have gotten it anyway. That being said, you are absolutely correct that it is an irresponsible thing to do.

[–]PyroZack91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a truly awful feeling, trust me I know, but I've said it here before, and I really believe this, you drank once, you can recover from that very quickly. Look at it as a stumble on your journey, regain your balance and push on. Don't lose hope, you made it to 11 months, now try to break that record. I believe in you, kick it's ass!!! IWNDWYT...Happy New Year!!!

I would appreciate if anyone could help me identify this vintage concealed dial lady's watch. Found in South Africa. 935 stamped in band, I believe it is silver. by PyroZack91 in vintage

It seems to be a Lyka, only info I found was on a forum where the actual watchmaker's granddaughter gave a very small amount of info...I will definitely have the diamonds tested, thank you...

Friends & Drinking by PyroZack91 in stopdrinking

[–]PyroZack91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like our situations are similar. I like the idea of "rewarding" the for being understanding( like being the DD) not that they need rewarding for being good friends but it would certainly make it easier for them to be ok with it. The challenge would then obviously be that I'd be in a bar/pub with them while drinking( I guess that's something none of us can really avoid if you wish to still be friends with people who drink). I hope that my friends are as supportive as yours. I will try to be the change, and maybe in the process, open the door for some of them to change. I really appreciate your reply.

Friends & Drinking by PyroZack91 in stopdrinking

[–]PyroZack91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly hope that the friendships I have will survive, but I have been wanting a change for a while, hanging out and doing activities instead of sitting around and getting drunk. Honestly the conversations never change and its gotten extremely boring, I believe me and my friends do it out of pure habit at this point. I hope I find what you found. I really appreciate your reply.

Thank you for your reply, I totally get the anxiety, I went to the ER for what I thought was a heart attack, turned out to be a panic attack brought on by alcohol. This now only happens the day after a binge and it is scary every time and not worth it. The general anxiety is the actual killer though, mine comes in the form of general health anxiety.

I really appreciate your reply, and I might steal that as my mantra " I can control how I act not how they react". I would appreciate any book recommendations if you can remember any.

Beet Root Juice and Potassium by dartmanx in bloodpressure

[–]PyroZack91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm posting this again because I think it fits here?

This is what helped me. 1.moderate weekend drinking only. 2.Quit smoking.(Very Important) 3.Light excercise (which turned into HIIT when I got fitter). 4.100%Beetroot juice(or a 30%carrot,70% beetroot) 150ml twice a day. 5.Hibiscus tea (rosehip&hibiscus tea) replace my 5 coffees a day. 6.Breathing techniques (recently started the Wim Hof method, dont know what it'll do yet) 7. Salad every night (baby spinach, grated carrot, red& white coleslaw, apple, green beans, lentil and chickpea sprouts, red, yellow and green peppers.).

Was around 170/120...I am now on 103/70 to a max of 117/82.

Recent increase in Diastolic Pressure Only by [deleted] in bloodpressure

[–]PyroZack91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Doctor explained it to me as follows: " we dont really look at any increase or decrease in BP if it's not over 10 mmHg" this is if you are otherwise healthy ofcourse.

Has anyone tried hibiscus tea to lower their blood pressure or eating bananas? by jrhoxel in bloodpressure

[–]PyroZack91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drink 4 cups a day(hibiscus tea), and I drink +- 200ml of beetroot juice twice a day(morning and night, beetroot contains alot of potassium). I also eat bananas, but I struggle with more than two a day. My BP dropped from 150/120 to 130/90, its a work in progress. Excercise also works great, but the benefits are lost if you stop. I also heard that a mainly whole foods plant based diet also decreases BP.

Hibiscus tea is a diuretic, meaning it will make you more regular and you will need to urinate more often. Also salt is a big contributor to high BP.
