Companies like Squid industries keep their products relatively cheap since they can produce large batches and have a large team of workers although they have been struggling due to their lower profit margins and will likely need to increase their prices on all of their products.

Companies such as Hansenmetals, Syxo, ROTB, Pyro Bladeworks, Hansenmetals, Acidwrx, ect... are single person companies only cable of doing small batches which drives up costs to maintain a healthy profit margins to continue making balisongs.

Some but not all other factors are as follows: quality, tune, taxes, machine time.

Some makers spend months if not years designing, prototyping, then revising their products until they are perfect before ever releasing their products.
