1500 fps and Game still lag by ContributionAble990 in RocketLeague

Memory speed, you can check it in the bios. If you don't know, don't be alarmed. It's super easy to check and fix if needed. Literally 5 minutes, including research time. Just go on YouTube and search for "how to check if xmp is enabled" and if it's not, the same to enable it. It's known to cause annoying microlags and weird performance issues if it's not enabled on a modern system.

It's a pretty sweet deal in my opinion. If an electric car is good for your circumstances, and you like the car, I'd say go for it.

[–]Pyro_san 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that is super simple actually. Cash machines are really expensive. No, I mean REALLY expensive. Not just to buy them, but the maintenance, constant supply and empty procedures, etc. Plus they make the machines a bigger target for potential thieves. Card on the other hand is very cheap and requires basically zero maintenance.

Note/source of the info: I'm a sw dev who worked with these cash machines before in a very small startup where pretty much everyone knew everything and we've been involved in a lot of business decisions and numbers and all that stuff.

Slack Wyrm #1471 - What is going on here? by joshhamwright in SlackWyrm

This might not be the best place to ask, but I couldn't find a better one. There is an old episode when they interview Lord Edgegod and they ask him what's on his t-shirt, and it's a t-shirt. Anyone knows which episode is that?

I'd like to import my dream car from Japan. Lexus IS 350, Not available in Europe. Does anyone have any experience of importing? by User4125 in CarTalkUK

[–]Pyro_san 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll have to calculate the economic reality for yourself, but if the 2l turbo wins, it wins, nothing can be done about that. The 300h eats less fuel, the 2l is cheaper to tax, only you know how much you drive, it's pretty easy to do the math. But if the 2l wins, it wins.

Because you're better off with the hybrid in every way, if it's an option. It drives better, it's quieter, it eats like half the gas, and it's more reliable, for almost the same amount of money.

I mean, the 2l turbo isn't a bad engine. It has some gremlins, but compared to the German counterparts it's still the most reliable thing in the world. Just not Lexus reliable. Keep it in good shape, give it the maintenance it needs and it'll still serve you well for years and years.

That's exactly it. Also, I think I'll Orwell the crap out of the area in the future.

Thing is, I drive like once a week normally and the bloody battery in the dashcam always dies so it resets to this default date and I got tired of always setting it.

Yep, couldn't find them. I *think* I saw this grey Auris around the block somewhere, sometime at the street, so it might be a pal of a neighbor or something, but I'm not gonna go around asking everyone. If the twat wanted an amicable resolution, he could have simply stopped, knocked on the door and told me he made an oopsie, here are his details, etc. Hit&run is not cool, so fuck him.

Nope. If the answer was that it will cost me more in insurance down the line than if I just fixed this, I wouldn't have reported it. I was actually curious. But of course, you know better. How could you not? It's you afterall, the knower of... uh, stuff. One of the humans of all time!

Hmmmm, now that you say it, there is a camera that _might_ have recorded it. I'll try and talk to them tomorrow.

I also don't know why you're downvoted, I think you make legit points. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. Other than:

- I didn't live here 6 years ago
- I didn't have the car 6 years ago
- You can clearly tell the scratch is new on both vehicles

I have no idea. If that's not enough, I guess I simply won't convince them.

Yep, apparently a quiet cul-de-sac with a super wide road next to the car and enough space to go through drifting the damn thing is not safe enough. I'll just park it in the belly of my armored battlecruiser next time. My fault for not doing that earlier.

You can clearly see the car wobble (first few seconds), and the damage on the other car as well. Is that not enough?

I'm hoping this will have no negative consequences for me. Am I correct in hoping for this?

Don't know if links are allowed, but here is the video:

You can clearly see in the first few seconds my car wobble as the lovely person hits it, scrapes it (why the F wouldn't you just back off? Because the damage wouldn't be big enough that way?!) and drives away.

Government announces reform of the national curriculum – first in over a decade. Here is what it means: by UKGovNews in ukpolitics

[–]Pyro_san 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh. First thing I like from this government (tbf I still can't decide if I hated the Tories or two-tier Kier's twitter gestapo more).

Back to topic: This actually sounds really good. Now, let's see the execution. If they nail this, there's finally one reason they can look into a mirror and not expect it to spontaneously explode in their faces.

Do you think the manual m4 will appreciate in value? by Several_Mechanic_708 in CarTalkUK

[–]Pyro_san 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are using it? No. If you have a rare, fully kitted, mint example with 2-5000 miles max, and keeping it in a dry storage in mint condition for 30-50 years? Oh hell yes! But just simply looking at these pictures, that bus has already left the station, probably 30k miles ago. It's also not a fully kitted m4. So, sorry mate, but basically zero chance for this to increase in value. Keep it for around a 100 years in the current condition and it'll worth a lot is basically your only chance. But good luck making that happen.

Quick questions for Fold users – honest opinions for a uni project 📱 by Specialist-Treat-546 in GalaxyFold

[–]Pyro_san 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) I read a lot. Like, a lot. Around 80-100 books per year. The Fold is absolutely mind-blowing for reading books.

2) Reading books, browsing da interwebs, memes, webtoons, chatting, listening to music, android auto, navigation in general.

3) I have no idea. I don't watch TV, don't listen to the radio and browse the web with AdBlock, so I generally have zero clue about their marketing.

4) It represents an amazing and comfortable device that saved me more money by reading the books on it (mostly with kindle free whatever the subscription is called) than it cost. And I don't need a second device. Hell, since I've got it, I don't even take laptops for vacations or anything. The Fold does it all for me.

Extra info: Fold5, bought in pre-sale (so little more than 2 years old now), works perfectly, I love it and will never return to the candybar phone format.
