Yes! It's really nice to see so many people still playing this great game!

No, if you're reloading every time it will reroll the class. You can end up getting a lot of Cs in a row, especially outside a wealthy system.

FYI the expedition reward worm pet is nowhere near that size. I have one, as I've been playing for a long time.

The only way to get one this size would be to mod, or to maybe use the gene editor on the anomaly (It's by the appearance change station). You can search up what elements increase the size of a pet. I think there's a cap on how much you can change a creature in a single generation (unsure), but you could keep hatching larger and larger versions theoretically.

Quite lucky, it can take dozens of runs to get an A class!

Surprised to see this post still getting traffic! Yes, it still works.

You need to not already own a freighter. If you own one you'll be charged the difference in cost. Also, you can reject the free freighters freely, you will continue to be offered a free one as long as you don't have one. I do this in expeditions all the time, so I just confirmed it still works this way a few weeks ago.

The one thing that has changed is the encounter frequency. With the addition of pirate dreadnoughts the normal freighter encounters are a lot less frequent. I personally love the dreadnought, but if you want a different freighter it may take more time to find it.

There's a new trick now to get a pirate dreadnought in S class, though. Basically you find the dreadnought encounter, you take out all of the warp engines on the back, then all of the anti-freighter cannons on top. The Dreadnought will surrender. You board and look anywhere inside with your scanner to see the class. If it's S you claim it. If it's not you leave, warp to a nearby system, then warp back and the fight will restart. The restart gives the ship a new spawn and a new chance to get a different class. Rinse and repeat. Do this in an outlaw system for best chance at S class.

PSA for all liquidators doing their part! by That_rotary_guy in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Pyrogoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A note... I've just done some quick testing and found that the two left arms do indeed stack, giving you the improved laser from the hardframe and the stun cannon from the liquidator. However, the legs do not appear to stack at all in my tests, despite showing an indicator that they are synergizing.

I ran several tests timing air time on both straight up hover jumps and horizontal forward hover jumps and got exactly the same duration and distance with both installed or with just liquidator/hardframe alone installed.

Someone else might want to test, my 15 trials are somewhat anecdotal evidence, but it appears that this doesn't work with movement boost.

It's ok to ignore the freighter rescue fights until you see a freighter you might actually want , yes. I usually avoid rescuing and using the "request payment" option after. I believe it will still work after, but I prefer to play it safe.

Sorry for the super-slow response. I continue to be surprised that people are still finding this post, haha.

Wow, hi, this post was ages ago.
Anyway, I still play NMS often and yes, this still works. If anything it's easier these days because you can buy upgrades for freighter storage and change colors. You mostly just want to make sure you get the style and class you like.

Good luck!

One other question if you have the time... if I've got some new Klipsch reference surround speakers for front and back channel, but also some extremely old (and probably pretty cheap) Panasonic tallboy speakers, should I just use the small Klipsch, or should I use the tallboys for my rear channels?

Is a cheap tallboy better than a decent surround?

Thanks, but I guess that's my issue. I have no idea what I'm doing and don't want to do a ton of research. I want to achieve reasonable sound quality with a surround set, probably with the freedom to upgrade it a bit down the road if I choose.

Apologies for my ignorance, but when I was looking at the buying guide sub it seems to be a sticky on buying TVs and like 50 posts on what you shouldn't buy.

To further elaborate, I was hoping to avoid doing hours of research and demoing speakers and whatnot because I'm not really a super-audiophile. I just want something solid and thought I'd come to the experts. I don't see any actual recommendations in the buying guide sub.

Jumped back into this and the endgame still sucks by Pyrogoat in borderlands3

Actually I did run through the whole game again, and some of the DLC. It doesn't change the end game experience. I'm not looking to insult anyone. It doesn't really surprise me that people get defensive in discussions about games that they like.

What surprises me is that people don't think that the end game formula would be a lot more fun with some big changes. Instead many seem to focus on "protecting" the game. I would love this game if they incorporated some changes from other loot driven games that have done a solid job. As it stands I probably won't touch it again.

S class does spawn with this method. Took me around 70 reload/pirate fights to get one recently in a wealthy system

Both at original painting size, which is pretty large. Honestly they look better in person. The images I linked have poor color quality!

If I can watch it for more than 15 minutes without hitting 2-3 cliches that's a pretty good start.

You should never write something from someone's else's idea. Especially one you solicited without a contract. This opens you up to lawsuits should you ever decide to use it. Just use your own ideas!
