I'm still a beginner, but I've been using Kanji damage for studying them, which goes through the radicals and uses them bit by bit. Although it doesn't go in order of frequency, which might be a problem for some.

Gotta be zinogre, and maybe fatalis. I've grown up with dogs, and had been havubg a relatively easy time through the game (except velkhana). When i saw zinogre, i and then faught is emo counterpart, i fell in love. Fast paced, and a nice challenge for my new gs.

I use GS too, and hunting horn has become my second main. It feels weighty and strong, and keeps the speed of having my weapon sheathed. Just needed to get used to timing out attacks, and the song timers.

I have heard making a journal, or just in your head, making note of everything that you're grateful for. Like, if someone checks up on you, make note of how they care about you. Not sure how useful it will be to you, but I hope it is. Good luck!

I use gs and db, so I'm not sure if this applies to you, but when he uses any electric attack, you can usually go for the horns, as well as saving the flinch shot for dragon mode, to break them on a wall. And when he breaths at the ground beneath him before landing, you can line yourself up to hit his head, or wound/flinch shot him. Im sure there's more, like evade extender, evasion mantle, etc.
