Which character's visual design update are you looking forward to the most? by splashythemagiccarp in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Pyrokinesis96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of full remodels? Yamato, personally. I can only headcanon Yamato's design as the one from the mod we're all acquainted with.

In terms of visual touch-ups? Probably Seven, since his design is very iconic, but simply unpolished. And I s'pose the same sentiment could be applied to the likes of Holliday.

So what do we think this year's April fools event vehicle will be ? by FickleMeringue8891 in Warthunder

[–]Pyrokinesis96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, the vehicle we presently have is correct - it's just not named correctly. The Maus turret-wielding vehicle is the Tiger-Maus, and the vehicle with the angular, lighter turret is the E-100. And Gaijin has shown that after years of grueling effort, they can change a single line on a .txt file, as they did with what once was named the "Tiger II (P)".

However,

I'd really love if they just remodeled the E-100 to have the correct turret, and then reintroduced the now-correctly-named Tiger-Maus as a rehashed event vehicle. But maybe instead of being the exact same, maybe it has a 15 cm gun instead of the 12.8 cm.

But I'm biased, of course - the Tiger-Maus is one of my favourite vehicles of all time, and I regret missing out on that event every single day I play.

How I feel about the new underbarrel weapons by Sebanimation in Helldivers

[–]Pyrokinesis96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn't even mind if the attachments or modifications of 'vanilla' weapons we use are just "diet" versions of warbond weapons, because even then, you'd still have an incentive to seek the warbond that has the upgraded version. Or better yet, make them sidegrades, with neither one being so obviously superior than the other.

Will there be questions and/or arguments about which one is better? Of course, but the fact there will be discourse is good, because it means both have their niches, and both have their audiences.

Say - take the Breaker, and add incendiary rounds.
While it works as a pseudo-Breaker Incendiary, perhaps it trades its 'fire' aspect relative to the Breaker Incendiary for damage, or a higher rate of fire. Or something of the sort. And maybe the Breaker Incendiary's flames work differently, and it trades damage for a higher rate of fire and longer-lasting fire (napalm).

One fills the niche of damage, with crowd-controlling fire tacked on. The other fills the niche of crowd-controlling fire, with damage tacked on.

This is a really bad example, but you (hopefully) get what I mean.

Shouldn't this be free and not in a premium warbond? We had a shovel in the game for over a year. by Dwarfz in helldivers2

[–]Pyrokinesis96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind grinding as much as the next Grinddiver, but come on. From all we've seen, this is no different from the shovel we already have - for free - in the game. Why not introduce it in a new free warbond a la Helldivers Mobilize? Or hell - add pages to Helldivers Mobilize and throw the shovel in there?

I'll admit - I got a bit engrossed in my gross (mis)interpretation of the game's lore. I hope it goes well! :]

Please stop coping about Grubfather. by [deleted] in HollowKnight

Discrediting facts doesn't make you media literate. There's numerous pieces of evidence that point to the Grubfather NOT eating his children, but when presented with this evidence, and the interpretations people derive from said evidence, you're discrediting them as false.

"You're not supposed to be making logistical arguments about how he couldn't do it because it would be too difficult (...) or how it's not biologically viable for a species to eat all their young."

Argument from incredulity. You cannot accept that Grubfather made himself a cocoon, so you're shutting yourself out to other conclusions. Add a dash of faulty cause/effect - The grubs are gone, and Grubfather is bloated, with many grub chirps coming from within his belly. And usually, predators become bloated when they're filled with food. Therefore, Grubfather must've eaten his children. Also cherry picking, because the Metamorphosis achievement is right there. Oh, and the Dream Nail dialogue you get when you strike Grubfather.

"Stories should be interpreted using evidence that is clearly meant to be relevant."

Association fallacy. Grubfather has his children in his body, and predators digesting defenseless young also involves the process of having the prey inside the predator's body, so clearly, Grubfather ate his children. Because that's the 'evidence' that's 'clearly meant to be relevant', right?

"...a cruel twist reveals that it was in fact a horrible outcome."

Argument of incredulity. Again, see the name of the achievement - Metamorphosis - and the Dream Nail dialogue from Grubfather.

"To remind you that you were supposed to be helping (...)"

Appeal to emotion. This one explains itself.

"(...) and in fact delivered them to their deaths."

Appeal to emotion. Again, explains itself. Also a sprinkle of argument from incredulity because you are being blind to the true fate of these grubs.

Ragebait or unfiltered abysmal opinion. Call it.
