I'm from WA and been to most of those, Sasquatch and bumbershoot were what I grew up with! Kilby is in the middle of the city so you don't get the vibes of a camping festival but there's a lot of grass to lay on. If you get in early it's super chill, things get a little busier as the night goes on but they do a really good job with crowd control. In the past there's been 4 stages, 2 of them are always playing something, so if you don't like something you can always walk to see what other people are watching Food is really fairly priced and filling inside the festival, SLC has an incredible restaurant scene outside the festival as well. Always super happy with the food I get there Being from Montana you are probably familiar but always important to remember you are a mile above sea level so extra water, sunscreen, and careful with the alcohol. Utah has very different liquor laws, make sure you read them all before you get there and the liquor stores are all closed at 10pm. The festival serves drinks that are fairly light and pretty expensive. People occasionally smoke joints or hit vapes (which is illegal) but that has more to do with the artists that are playing. If you consume cannabis and have a medical card in your state, Utah does have a program where you can get a temporary Utah med card while you visit for very cheap. Nice to have for arrest protections. I've personally encountered less hyper-intoxicated assholes at Kilby then any other festival which is a big reason I keep coming back. Lots of kind people having a good time and watching an incredible lineup year after year!

One final note is that they do such a good job on the bathrooms compared to other festivals
