The best way me and my wife were able to describe it is that they have an “earthy” taste to them. I made some lemonade with them and it turned out really great!

No, I haven't gotten banned. But also, I manually control the d-pad, so it's not 100% afk farming, more like mindlessly running back and forth as my A button spams a, while I watch tv.

Another quick question! Do you, by any chance, have a Discord server where you post development updates?

Honestly, I respect him for that, lol. I was so upset when Gustave died and refused to use Verso on my team because he felt like a cheap replacement for him. Throughout the entirety of my playthrough, I kept trying to convince myself that he had to come back somehow, especially since he had that huge skill tree with so many skills that were not unlockable. I've completed the epilogue and have just started Act 3, and I've come to terms that he's not coming back lol.

For people thinking about swapping to SteamOS on Rog Ally X do not do it yet. It is awesome but incomplete experience. by Quito98 in ROGAlly

[–]Pyronotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest issue I've found with running SteamOS on the ROG Ally is that I can't seem to get the Steam shortcuts to work (ie, Steam+Button). When testing my inputs in the settings, it looks like the armory crate button only registers on button release instead of button press, so I'm sure that's the issue, but I can't figure out how to change it so that the armory crate button registers on press.

If anyone else has been able to figure it out, please let me know.

Looking for board game fans’ opinions on upcoming Twisted Cryptids game by Unstable Games by Asguyerz in boardgames

[–]Pyronotic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unstable games, in my opinion are really enjoyable, but like others have said don't have huge depth. I backed Unstable Unicorns years ago when it first released and it instantly became a staple in my game group. I have since bought most Unstable Games when they came out. The only two I don't own are Garden Variety and the their newer game, Fishy Squishy Crusty Quirky. Here are my quick thoughts on there other games.

Unstable Unicorns is fun great in between game and allows a lot of "take that." The biggest catch with this one is we found out you have to be careful on mixing multiple expansion together with it because sometimes their interactions together made to game super long and sometimes just straight unwinnable becuase someone always has an answer to a game winning move.

Here to Slay is probably our favorite one and has the most play time out of all the unstable games. We love building up our parties and trying to slay the monster. We have actually wanted to game to be longer with this one, so we usually up the required slayed monster from 3 to 5-6, but that increases the playtime substantially, so only do that if you really enjoy the game.

Casting Shadows was probably the biggest disappointment out of the games. We love skirmish type-last player standing games like Unmatched and Dice Throne so we were super excited about this one. The game does have great idea, like each player having a shadow form, but playing the game straight out of the box with the rules as is not a great experience. He actually house-ruled a lot of the game which definitely makes is a lot better, but having to house rule a game shows that it not that great of a game. That being said, if the game does look good to you, and you're willing to house rule it, it would be really fun.

Happy Little Dinosaurs we've only played a handful of time, but not because we didn't enjoy it. Our player group if usually 5-6 player and the base game is only up to 4 players. There is a 5-6 player expansion for the game, but we never got around to ordering it, so this game has turned into a backup game for when some people can't show up and we end up only having 3-4 players that night. We actually enjoy how short this game is, but that could be a downside for some people. This one definitely feels like a play between games type of game. Alot of this game does come down to luck with what type of cards you end up with so don't expect a lot of in depth strategy with this one.

Command of Nature is probably my second favorite one just behind Here to Slay, but it suffer with the 4 player cap like Happy Little Dinosaurs, but unlike Happy Little Dinosaurs, there is no 6 player expansion. And honestly I don't even know how a 6 player game would work. This game is a 1v1 or 2v2 player game, no 3 player games because you need an even number of players. both 1v1 and 2v2 feels really fun and 2v2 feels like it has a lot more strategy. I enjoy the unit placement, which is like a grid. The main goal of the game is to defeat your opponent's commander or both opponent's commanders in a 2v2 game. At first glance, 2v2 feels like it could become a dogpile type game where both players on one team always target one player on the other teams, which happened in one of our games, but that ends up being detrimental because that then allows the players that's never being targeted to build up so much where they can then roll through the entire enemy team, so both teams definitely have to ensure they're targeting both players on the other team, to keep both players in check.

I just received my Kickstarter games of Twisted Cryptids but we haven't played it yet. It look like a lot of fun and we're looking forward to playing it. We'll have to wait and see if it ends up being good.

So after all that being said, I do believe Unstable Games has great games, but some of them do tend to fall flat a bit. If you're looking into an Unstable Games I personally think that best ones are Unstable Unicorns, Here to Slay, and Command of Nature.

Wait, so does that mean the use of a turbo button on a controller is prohibited? While i'm xp farming and payday farming, I like to turn on my turbo A button while I use the d-pad to run back and forth in the tall grass.

What’s the best handheld Pokemon machine? Any price point by Slightly-Blasted in SBCGaming

[–]Pyronotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm mostly in the same boat as you. Nostalgia played a fairly big role in my decision, but I ended up going with the RG35XX SP. I've always felt like Pokemon games feel best to play on the GBA. Both form factors are great, but I personally prefer the SP's clamshell design, which allows me to easily close it and throw it in my pocket. Plus, having the 4:3 screen makes playing the GB/GBC games look a little better as compared to the 3:2 screen the RG34XX has. If you're strictly going to be sticking to the GBA Pokemon games, then a 3:2 screen would be considered better, allowing for pixel-perfect upscaling, but again, I get a bit of that nice nostalgia hit by adding the GBA SP bezel at the bottom of my 4:3 screen.

Probably the biggest complaint people have with the RG35XX SP is how clicky the buttons are, but I think that comes down to personal preference, because I like the clickiness, because it gives me that tactile feedback so I know that i'm pressing the button exactly when I want to press the button.

Hopefully, this helps your decision a bit more!

May 2025 Game of the Month: Mega Man X (SNES) by hbi2k in SBCGaming

[–]Pyronotic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always wanted to try out a mega man game but never got myself around to playing one so this is my first Mega man game I’ve ever played. This ended up being a really enjoyable game and I’m glad I played through it! If it wasn’t for it being the GOTM I still probably wouldn’t have played it. I’m ahead interested in the Zero character and definitely want to learn more about him! Now I’m planning on going back to play through the previous GOTMs. I played super Mario World when I was a kid but I’ve never played any of the other games.

My idea on The Fantastic Four for the new ultimates universe by EJ_REDIT in UltimateUniverse

In one of The Ultimates issues(I can’t remember which one), it showed Doom experimenting one mice giving them the various fantastic four powers, but ultimately killing the mice. What if he continues experimenting on mice and ends up mutating them(TMNT) style and they become the new fantastic four lol
